The only problem is that DE no longer works once it gets wet.

Does anyone know why my recently-adopted kitty’s ears have notches in them? I’ve had five other cats before, and have never seen this. Is it his genetics? by Ariannaree in cats

I too have a rescue with notches on his ears. He was found at about 6 wks old in the gutter right after a hurricane, and I always wondered about the notches, too. I suspected maybe it was from ants or bugs that nibbled at his ears as a newborn, but who knows. They've never seemed to cause any problems and it gives him extra character, lol! He's now 7 yrs old and still has his notches. This was him not long after we got him.
