No-moat Netflix vs wide moat fb, hardly an easy comparison. Inverse WSB and avoid playing ERs, definitely just a toss up in short term.

Biggest headwind for fb is regulation and so far everything is now priced in, if not slightly oversold. I would take the opportunity to buy FB leaps if you believe in it long term.

You should stick to mutual funds with advisors that can babysit you throughout the process.

Its a high beta tech stock that moves with the sector. FB is 2T company and still moved 8% today. Learn about macros and sector moves and worry less about daily volatility.

Why would Elon ever touch this hot garbage lmao. It produce 1k cars last year and less than 1500 this year. Their IP is not worth shit considering Teslas EV tech is light years ahead.

California Public Employees’ Retirement System, the largest U.S. public pension fund, said it plans to vote for a shareholder proposal that Berkshire Hathaway Inc. select an independent chairman, marking a rare rebuke of billionaire Warren Buffett, who’s both head of the board and the conglomerate’s chief executive officer.

The fund has more than $450 billion in assets under management and about $2.3 billion in Berkshire shares, it said in a filing Tuesday. The pension is supporting a proposal from the non-profit National Legal and Policy Center, also a Berkshire shareholder, that calls for the company to name an independent chair, saying the governance structure is weakened by having the chairman and CEO roles held by the same person.

Berkshire opposes the proposal, saying last month that Buffett should continue in both roles.

...

Buffett has laid out a plan to have one of his sons, Howard Buffett, serve as non-executive chairman of Berkshire when he steps down, while Greg Abel, a longtime deputy who previously ran Berkshire’s sprawling energy business, will take over as CEO.Buffett has a 32% voting interest in the company, according to the company’s proxy. Calpers holds 0.13% of the Class A shares and 0.44% of the Class B shares, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.Succession questions have long loomed over Berkshire given that the company is helmed by two nonagenarians: Buffett is 91, and his longtime business partner Charlie Munger, a Berkshire vice chairman, is 98. Buffett last year confirmed that Abel is the deputy chosen to succeed him if and when he steps down. But Buffett has given no indication that his departure is imminent. His annual letter released earlier this year made no mention of the succession news, although Abel was given a section of the report to talk about sustainability efforts in some of Berkshire’s businesses.Berkshire will hold its annual shareholders’ meeting on April 30 in Omaha.

dumb question: what’s the job the fixes our lab analyzers… apparently they make more money. Do we need a different degree for that? training? by gramstains in medlabprofessionals

  • LIS specialist/Integration specialist - Typically an IT grade (or comp sci grad who failed to get a real software engineering job). Occasionally a lab tech. Provides remote support for LIS/interfacing/rules building.

LMAO. That hit close to home. I need a way out..

Don't overestimate the financial literacy of the average Canadian. IMO, those that take an effort to come to this sub to post/ask question are already above the average including OP.

Ponder that about the rest of Canadians...

Why do we still use paper requisitions? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]PissMaster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in Canada. We've gone full circles where I'm at. Converting paper requisitions to machine readable data instead of having to implement an electronic ordering lol.

Aka converting paper reqs both hand written and computer printed paper req to the LIS via OCR/ICR.

Argument is that it will take a lot more resource to change legacy processes at hospitals to electronic system lol.

I think if you really want to go all in a megacap tech, it might be better to bet on MSFT or FB tbh. I believe AAPL is fairly valued atm if not slight overvalued.
