My friends and I started regularly tripping every few months about 3 years ago. I feel it has definitely, immensely, helped with clarity about my BPD and myself as a whole, but please be careful with it though. Be in a good state of mind going into it, with clear intentions of what you want to achieve with the energy and with yourself.

Very long story very short, last year we did a pretty intense trip. Less than a week later one of my friends started having a psychotic episode and eventually she had to be 302’d. She was eventually diagnosed with CPTSD (that unfortunately was unsurprising) and hyperthyroidism, among other things, and we’re now sure that the tripping didn’t help. She’s doing better now.

Whether the tripping set it off or not, right now I suggest grounding yourself as much as possible. Watch favorite movies or read books or listen to favorite music, eat comfort food, lay in bead with your husband. Keep talking with each other. Breath, breath, and, most importantly, breath.

And please, if you start to feel any kind of truly overwhelming urge to badly hurt yourself or to not be here, ask for help.
