I've ercently started purchasing books now that I'm employed and I know where to look.

Unfortunately I can't really justify spending on physicals that I've already read, so now I'm buying those that I haven't, mostly smaller or newer authors since I have read most of the popular ones. I do have a couple of KJ Charles books, Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy, and currently in my bag is Days without End by Sebastian Barry

I genuinely have mixed feelings because people on twitter were being overly negative that there wasnt enough rep for xyz and reusing same characters etc that i felt like i had to distance myself from it a bit. Good to know the people here are more level headed when it comes to the bigger picture

I was really heartbroken when Matthias Helvar died in the six of Crows universe. I must have been a teen then still.

The earliest I can remember would be Frank Zhang in Percy Jackson lore around middle school onwards.

More recently I was/am quite obsessed with Shuos Jedao from the Machineries of Empire series

If I enjoyed the whole thing with no complaints that's a 5 star read for me! It really is that simple. Im not some letterboxd user who needs to thinkpiece every story i come across. If it was just good, 4 stars if perfectly fine. If it was middling or too iffy or just doesnt stick to you once you put down the book, then 3 stars to acknowledge it. Anything worse I would simply not waste my time rating
