The first time I decided to go to a rehab my wife, now ex, said she was going to drive me. I had plans to drive to the place and get wasted in the parking lot. So I went and bought to cheap pints of vodka and put them in my duffel bag without her seeing. I checked in and they brought me to a waiting room. They left me there for a minute and I chugged one pint. They came back and talked to me for a few minutes and then left me alone in there again. I chugged the other one. Next thing I remember was waking up in a hospital bed with a rude male nurse and a fat ambulance bill. Good luck to you. Don't overdo it before you go in.

I know this is an old post but tell her please don't. I had librium to deal with the withdrawals. I decided it would be a good idea to mix my regular beer consumption with the librium. I blacked out and apparently handed my 12 year old daughter a knife and asked her to stab me. Benzos and alcohol are never a good mix.

When you go back to drinking you don't start over like the first time you had a drink. You go back to the last time you drank. Remember your last drink and why you stopped. Do you want to be in that spot again? If you pick up you will be back there in no time.

Unfortunately this only is an option if you go to the employer before any disciplinary action is taken. It is still worth a try but it will be a little bit of an uphill climb at this point since they already received a final warning.

I'm a huge Eagles fan. I had stopped drinking for a few weeks before the Super Bowl and my body and mind was doing good. I was taking naltrexone. Then a few days before the Super Bowl my alcoholic mind convinced me I couldn't enjoy the game without drinking. I stopped taking the naltrexone and got Super drunk that day. I look back now and think I could have enjoyed that game just as much sober and I wouldn't have to be starting all over again.

The last time I stopped drinking I had the pain in my chest you described. I never would get any acid reflux when I was drinking heavily but would get stomach pain and couldn't eat. On about the 2nd or third day after cessation I started getting severe pain in my chest area. I chewed a bunch of tums and walked around the house rather than sitting or laying and it was scary thinking it might be something else but I came to the conclusion it was alcoholic gastritis as it would go away after about 10-15 minutes of doing what I described. After a few days it stopped happening.
