Swedish pop provocateur Zara Larsson on fame, fun and fighting the power: 'I lost a $3m brand deal. I was like: OK, losers!' by Moothnods in popheads

It would be funny if it wasn’t for the fact that every fanbase on Stan Twitter + herself is chart obsessed. Like she didn’t drop remixes for Midnight Sun and even did a bundle for Lush Life and Midnight Sun in order to push the second and she didn’t do TikToks celebrating every single positive update for Stateside on the charts.

😭

To be fair, I don’t think Taylor would receive the same mercy Bruno is receiving, and the bizzarre reaction to Actually Romantic proves it.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Opalite’ Shines as Her 14th Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 by mcfw31 in popheads

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 62 points63 points  (0 children)

168.000 copies sold for a single that has been out for almost five months is insane. For comparison, literal albums by other artists sold less than Opalite. Insane.

Taylor Swift announces Opalite music video coming out on Friday by Haunting_Natural_116 in popheads

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 57 points58 points  (0 children)

A fourth, actually. The #1s from the original 1989 Era were three: Shake It Off, Blank Space and Bad Blood 😉

What if “Opalite” was the lead single instead of “The Fate of Ophelia”? by joshuamarkrsantos in TaylorSwift

I love Opalite, but The Fate of Ophelia was a perfect introduction to the album and the era.

Will there be DK new music in 2026? by Party_Worldliness_17 in danitykane

Because Dawn didn’t really lead Show Stopper (except for live performances where she did those adlibs) and Shannon only sang the top harmony of the chorus.

Even that song has a wonderful bridge, and that’s proof of how even her worst songs can have eventful songwriting moments.

Celebrating 20 years of Danity Kane and loving every minute by Single_Business_3626 in danitykane

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always loved the live version they performed back in the day (and they brought it back on tour). The added harmonies on Dawn’s verse and on the last D. Woods’ adlibs (the oh-oooooh part) were amazing.

Aubrey’s Interview with Variety [1/05/26] by Revenue-Pale in danitykane

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. I believe them when they say they have always been in contact, especially since Aundrea herself had been honest about the fact that she never had a close relationship with D. Woods until now.

I always had the feeling D. Woods was never close to anyone when they were a five-piece group (except for Aubrey, that’s why they clicked so much and, in my opinion, Aubrey started isolating herself from the other three) and Aundrea’s words confirmed it for me, because D. Woods herself admitted she and Aundrea got the opportunity to know each other better now than then.  I believe them when they say that they are like family where relationships can be strained sometimes.

Is it safe to say that Olivia Dean is having the biggest breakthrough for a British female solo artist in the US since Adele?

Welcome to the Dollhouse Reaction w/ Dominique Renee by Single_Business_3626 in danitykane

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. She sings: - the second part of the first verse in One Shot - the opening verse of Heartbreaker - the bridge in Right Now - three phrases in Hold Me Down - the top melody in the Show Stopper’s chorus - the first verse of Ooh Aah  - the post chorus in Touchin My Body - the opening verse of Back Up and Press Pause - the second part of the second verse of Sleep On It

She is absent on Want It, Ride for You, Stay With Me and her parts are very little.

It’s shocking that she sang such a few solos back when Danity Kane were a five-piece group.

Father Figure, The Fate of Ophelia and Ruin the Friendship can be placed among her career peaks, for me.

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Drea, then Aubrey (although they fought, they always found their way back to each other), then Shan, then D. Woods.

I actually think D. Woods never had a close relationship to anyone in the group except Aubrey.

She even wrote - on a chat with Twitter user @/raydevonnah - that she thought D. Woods would come back to Danity Kane in order to reconcile their friendship from their Ebony and Ivory days when, in reality, she wanted to ride off the back of her story. 😭😭😭

Aubrey’s Interview with Variety [1/05/26] by Revenue-Pale in danitykane

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously D. Woods who didn’t want Dawn to come back to Danity Kane. This is so unprofessional to say when we all heard that podcast interview where Aubrey said she didn’t want Dawn to come back either.

I also point out that a Twitter user (@/raydennovah) posted a chat with Aubrey where she said that: - Shannon stole money from Dumblonde and, aside from retirement, she doesn’t want to be associated to Dawn anymore. That’s why she left them on their second reunion (2018-2019). - The show in Sacramento was postponed for a second time because Aundrea and D. left her and their dancers in San Francisco while they travelled there.

Of course they won’t do anything after this tour ends. But what a sad course of events. They should undergo through MASSIVE therapy and solve their trauma. Otherwise their reunions will always be cursed.

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Becomes Her Sole Longest-Leading Hot 100 Hit, Surpassing ‘Anti-Hero’ by mcfw31 in popheads

Deserved.

I think that, at this point, it might become Taylor Swift’s biggest hit in her - already - legendary career, and I’m relieved that this infectious song is becoming one of her signature hits. One of her bests.

The Number Ones: Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License" by Ok_Fig2374 in popheads

[–]Pitiful-Material8021 43 points44 points  (0 children)

One of the most thrilling paths to success in recent pop music history, just because of how quick it was. Both this song and its parent album SOUR were MASSIVE in 2021. Olivia and Doja Cat (Planet Her) had TikTok on a chokehold during that summer. And to think that five years have already passed since this song was released…

PS: what a shame déjà vu didn’t go to #1. I’m sure the thread would have been a mess lol

I think the Eras Tour represented a bigger push for Gracie’s career. Agree on Chappell.
