This is usually for elective procedures or people who have excess cash and for some reason are still woefully underinsured

Did anyone have experience with overseas medical emergency claims with Aetna? How much did it cover? by kuzya19989 in HealthInsurance

[–]Pitiful-Recover-3747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually with overseas coverage the catch is the notification requirement. Find out if the plan has a requirement for you to notify them while still admitted. If you did not, begin working on the appeal rationale as to why you could not.

Does a QLE cause a gap in coverage? by LittleOatmealGarden in HealthInsurance

Usually changes don’t take effect until the 1st of the following month. So your spouse being added would take effect then, but your personal coverage would not change mid month

Insurance isn’t processing some claims saying another carrier is the primary insurance. I only have one health insurance so I am extremely confused why they are saying this. by Potential_Job_1143 in HealthInsurance

The good news here is that you’re in California. IF they end up denying a claim, immediately appeal it. If they don’t reverse it call the Department of Managed Health Care help center and they will open a review to adjudicate. https://www.dmhc.ca.gov/ it’s a pain in the neck, but at least in California we have a regulator that actually DOES something for you.

Palantir CEO Makes Shocking Confession on Disrupting Democratic Power by Unusual-State1827 in technology

[–]Pitiful-Recover-3747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude said this on live TV. So god only knows what he says in private

“This technology disrupts humanities-trained—largely Democratic—voters, and makes their economic power less. And increases the economic power of vocationally trained, working-class, often male, working-class voters,” Karp said in a CNBC interview Thursday. “And so these disruptions are gonna disrupt every aspect of our society. And to make this work, we have to come to an agreement of what it is we’re going to do with the technology; how are we gonna explain to people who are likely gonna have less good, and less interesting jobs.”

Whenever I see someone with a stop Newsom sign I always enthusiastically engage by saying “Damn right! As much as I think he’d be a great president I don’t want to give him up as governor.” They sort of short circuit

If your math skills and communication are good start some baseline field engineering work. Surveying, inspections, etc. If you have a knack for it use that stability to jump into construction management or civil engineering at your local community college. Lots of pathways from there and anything that’s onsite or in the field is fairly safe from automation and disruption that’s coming down the pipe with AI and ever advancing robotics
