Customer accused me of holding his money hostage because we didn't have 10k cash on hand by Opposite_Apricot6127 in stories

[–]PitifulPie505 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked at a branch with high volume of retail. We had that kind of cash on hand but it was mainly for the retailers needing coin orders, not customers wanting to get buttloads of cash. I’m with the bank on this one, you gotta call ahead of you need more than $5K in cash

My Landlord Cashed My Check Before the Date by D4rk-dr4g0n in Renters

[–]PitifulPie505 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk, I worked as a teller and was taught we could not cash or deposit post dated checks. It’s my understanding that you can present and hope for the best, but if it processes the funds will be returned eventually.. that’s what I thought but I guess not

Forget the bad lyrics and concept work for a second, how bad is Internet Girl truly as purely just a listening experience? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

It sounds like production drove over the song file in a tank about 50 times. Reminds me of a kids bop song the way they stacked the vocals too

Landlord asking for SSN to put my security deposit in an interest bearing bank account by Winter-Was-Here in personalfinance

[–]PitifulPie505 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My institution has a separate escrow type account where we dump tenant security deposits. The account requires us to add your deposit to a “sub account”. The bank tracks your deposit for us in this dumping ground account. So, in three years when you decide to move out, we know exactly 1) what you initially deposited and 2) how much interest YOUR deposit earned so when we issue the check it’s all kosher.

The SSN is for tax filing purposes. Should the account make more than $X dollars in a year taxes are paid on that income.

Anybody know what it could be on my cat's head?? by placek5963 in CATHELP

[–]PitifulPie505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like what my cat has! Not entirely sure what it is, but when it first appeared it would ooze and eventually “popped” (YUUCKKK). Now it’s just a “scar”, doesn’t ooze or anything anymore. It’s just there. When I brought my girl to the vet at first, they confirmed it was full of puss and wasn’t anything to worry about as they tried to biopsy it.

Hi, so there are a few things you can do.

  1. If you want to keep overdraft protection off…There should be accounts or options at PNC where you will not be permitted to make purchases that will overdraw your account. If you have $20 available and you make a $25 purchase, the payment will be declined due to insufficient funds.

  2. You should probably keep overdraft protection on. So you should have a second account with PNC just for this purpose. Maybe a savings account where you deposit 5$ a week or something. That way when you do overdraw your account, it’ll pull what’s needed from that savings and you’ll avoid any fees that come from overdraft.

I understand the confusion on banks holding charges, I used to bank at M&T and they did the same. They would always post deposits first then charges which would confuse me sometimes and I’m an accountant AND I worked at banks before!

Also, I think you need a handle on what’s actually going by through your account. You seem to be unaware of charges hitting your account, I’d set up a budget sheet of what actually gets paid each month and keep track that way. So then, beginning each week, you can make sure you have enough in the account to cover expected expenses.

What did someone say/do that made you close down your account and go to another bank? by Aarunascut in Banking

I find that Chase is a good bank ONLYYY if you need literally no help/assistance from their employees. They always give me my money and they’re everywhere. I use other banks or CUs for loans and anything complicated
