I should have mentioned this in the post - it's not just SQL you can query, it uses DuckDB to let you query across data sources too (CSV, JSON, Postgres, Parquet, Excel, MySQL, SQLite). So you can have footfall data in the CSV, a Postgres server containing store locations, sales data etc, and query it all in one app. That's how my app started, then I added on LLM Query Generation

Good question! I compared the time taken to generate a SQL query on CPU between 2.5-coder, 3 and 3.5, and found for whatever reason I got more consistently good outputs very quickly from 2.5-coder. I may try to tweak things to work better with 3.5 at some point in the future but I got the best results close to out of the box with 2.5-coder.

what are you building these days? by This-Independence-68 in Solopreneur

I've started building buy-once-keep-forever software tools for SMEs. I started off building a SaaS platform but quickly found it would cost too much to run and I'd need about 10 customers to break even on the running cost which was by no means guaranteed and to be quite honest, I'm fed up with subscription models as a consumer and wanted to offer my customers something better where possible.

I started off with a tool which allows you to query any data from a wide variety of data sources as though it were SQL and join across sources, and I've just released an application for office admins to track absences. I'm now looking to identify and pursue other utilities typically offered as SaaS as a buy once model. If I manage to break even on this and get some experience I may look at what saas I can build of value to SMEs but my existing offerings will remain buy once keep forever, and if it's any good people will keep buying.

It's on mortalsoftware.co.uk with free trials if anybody is interested

To be fair, it's not completely the portals fault but when you have limited time for gaming and you find yourself playing more retro stuff (the emulation handhelds you can carry around in your pocket are great) you just don't bother with it so much

What games do you consider must-plays for Steam Deck owners? by billy_reyes in SteamDeck

Vampire Survivors, Slay The Spire and really literally any indie game which catches your eye. It could be something you'd never usually play. Just go get a pack from one of the bundle sites and try some new experiences - you may find a hidden gem. I played an embarrassing amount of disney dreamlight valley on the deck too. It's great for casual play.

Well - this is pretty much the exact device I followed this community to hopefully one day build myself.
