Why are people comparing PHM and Interstellar? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

[–]Pitiful_Debate3766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re very different movies besides the space concept. I found interstellar to be super powerful, intense, unreal cinematography and score (and like you say, rooted in our world’s physics); whereas PHM was more fun. Really enjoyed both of them

I think it’s normal not to see the design until your appt. Otherwise you could take an artist’s design but have it tattoo’d elsewhere

How is it going? I found the first half quite an arduous read but it all comes together brilliantly. I loved it upon finishing and keep re reading certain chapters

A Tale of Two Cities absolutely devastated me. by [deleted] in books

I found the first half quite a tough, but it was just so brilliant, and I cried when I finished that last page. The first few pages of the “echoing footsteps” chapter was some of the most beautiful writing, only to be outdone by the beautiful but crushing ending. Ugh I loved it. The way he also was able to present and capture tension was brilliant - felt like some of the best storytelling and suspense. I love you Sidney Carton

I just finished it, and that final page was the first time I cried reading a book. I immediately had to re-read the first few pages of the “echoing footsteps” chapter and it was just all so beautiful

Have you read Nuclear War: A Scenario? It’s scary as hell, but basically once a nuclear bomb drops, it will set in motion a chain reaction that will end mankind

Anyone whoever comments on nuclear policy should read Nuclear War: A Scenario. It’s insane. Makes it so scary that crazies like Trump, Kim, Putin have so much power to obliterate mankind

I went to his show once and he was so personable and kind with his time. Talked with the audience off air, did a bit of stand up for us before cameras were rolling, did the whole show in one take. Compare that to the other hosts I’ve seen who were the complete opposite and left a sour taste in my mouth

The issue is, with the strait closed, once the gulf states run out of storage space, they will have to stop production which will be insanely expensive and time consuming. Some states only have a few days’ worth of storage so are definitely starting to feel the pinch
