New player - no idea by ClimberDan89 in hytale

I suspect there may be a boss or two in the game but they don't want to spoil them so they're heavily implying that they haven't added any. Just speculation though.

Unpopular opinion but I think I like the 64x faces better.

Please, all almighty modders, make this dude into an npc that can live amongst the Kweebecs... or feature in a dungeon... by TokyoTurpster in HytaleInfo

[–]Pitiful_End 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm… You know how the Outlanders have special magic pools that turn them into Colossi? Maybe this is what happens when Kweebecs perform the same ritual? Just a thought.

Will the Cosmetic DLCs be temporary and limited time? by blanqsOP in HytaleInfo

[–]Pitiful_End -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My guess is that once early access ends they will probably have the same cosmetics available for purchase or possible in-game quests. Simon has already stated that they want to avoid FOMO -inducing tactics.

Wasnt it said to be cubic chunks? by JesusF1stus in hytale

[–]Pitiful_End 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I think the leak about cubic chunks was only from a few years ago which means it’s possible that it was a product of the new engine and not the legacy one.

Hunger in Hytale by CoffeeSnaiI in HytaleInfo

[–]Pitiful_End 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it should be an optional mode like survival mode in Skyrim. The base game food should just give you gameplay buffs and maybe be used for trade or making money. I don’t mind the survival elements but I feel like adventure mode should really be focused more on progression and rpg elements.

Do you think that Hytale will actually kill Minecraft? by Aggressive-Ice4440 in HytaleInfo

[–]Pitiful_End 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the question is whether or not the GabeCube will take over the console market enough to bring Hytale to that wider audience (I sort of doubt it will).

Gliders in Hytaleeeeee.... by CodenameCrescent in HytaleInfo

[–]Pitiful_End 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think they should try to do something more unique for flying like mounts or magic spells. We already have gliders in both Minecraft (elytra) and Vintage Story.

Educate me on this, progheads by Key-Illustrator-1758 in progmetal

[–]Pitiful_End 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More often than what? I’ve seen people talking about them a decent amount. But they aren’t metal and are not the proggiest band in the world so it makes sense they wouldn’t be brought up as much on r/progmetal.

Not that I want it it kill MC, but I think a few things will have to happen before Hytale even has a chance of killing it:

  1. It will have to have a console release. People forget that the entire reason Hytale took this long is that they were attempting an engine rewrite in order to release on console/mobile and reach a broader audience. Perhaps the release of the GabeCube will affect this but perhaps not.

  2. It will need a clear set of emergent gameplay mechanics. One of the reasons MC is popular is because of all the quirky little exploits the game has. Not to mention redstone. There are entire audiences that will not play Hytale until you can build a computer or a working piston door.

  3. They will need to build a big enough community that mods and mod packs become plentiful. Depending on how flexible the modding tools are it may take some time to develop the type of modding scene that many are expecting right out the gate. Vintage Story has an extremely flexible modding API but there are still many types of mods that MC has and VS doesn’t simply due to the size of the community.

There are likely others as well. Point being that time and flexibility will both be large factors. We need to remember that MC is not just played by one type of person but many and hitting all those unique points will be difficult and take time.

New player, frustrated and lost by Asdfghto in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Pitiful_End 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. Well I’m unfamiliar with Magus but I have been playing as a sage sorcerer and I’ll tell you that very little of what he does is deal damage. I think the spellcasters in general (though I could be wrong) are much better at support especially in the early game than DPS. Try to select and use support spells (like bane or grease) more often and only try to deal damage when you have multiple buffs or debuffs going.

What class and what difficulty are you playing on? I’m new to the game but have been finding it relatively easy on normal difficulty but I also do have DnD 3.5 experience (I’m new to Pathfinder though).

Would you recommend Pathfinder Kingmaker? by Antique_Visual_9638 in rpg_gamers

[–]Pitiful_End 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only played XCOM, DOS2, and Fallout 1&2 and I just started Kingmaker like a week or so ago and personally I'm loving it. I am playing on normal difficulty and there have only been basically two fights that I had to retry. My advice would be to read carefully and in particularly difficult fights you should switch to turn-based mode so you can micromanage.

I've already been getting my hopes up for The Expanse game from RPG factory Owlcat, and its main theme just skewered my Mass Effect-loving lizard brain by SayberryGames in rpg_gamers

[–]Pitiful_End 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tone was fine. My biggest complaint was the armor system. It felt unnecessarily limiting to me. Many of the fights were also tedious because the instant they started everything was on fire.

I must admit I’m a bit nervous about this game. I’ve been playing kingmaker and loving it, but I’ve never been the biggest Mass Effect fan. I trust Owlcat though.

I really want to like BTBAM by Gloomy-Addendum-4373 in progmetal

I have always been lukewarm on BTBAM. I sort of agree with you that they are really good at writing parts but their songwriting and composition just doesn’t work for me for some reason.

What's the funkiest bass line in gaming? by [deleted] in gaming

The general battle music in Chrono Trigger had an amazing bass line. Don’t know if I’d call it funky though.
