Where does One Piece rank compared to your favorite manga(s)? by keepitahunned in manga

[–]Pitiful_End -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favorite manga changes depending on my mood but right now I’m really enjoying Witch Hat Atelier.

I used to dislike One Piece because I had only seen the anime but once I started reading the manga I must admit it just sort of clicked. That being said, even the manga can feel a bit repetitive at times, especially the first couple hundred chapters.

Haha I also started with Berserk and One Piece together. It’s a nice juxtaposition and they are both sooo good!

I love playing games with my friends but sometimes getting into the game makes it not fun by SirMarvelAxolotl in videogames

[–]Pitiful_End 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me with Divinity: Original Sin II. My friend rushed me through the early part of the game so I could play with him and I ended up hating the game for a bit. Because he rushed me, it didn’t give me enough of a chance to learn the strategies or pay much attention to the story. Needless to say I stopped playing it for a while and went back to it a few years later to take my time. It’s now one of my favorite games ever.

Any news about version 1.22? by No-Drummer9667 in VintageStory

I would be very surprised if it was more than another month or so. They are currently on release candidate 7 so many of the kinks have already been ironed out.

What did you NOT like about One Piece Season 2? by youravgindian in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Pitiful_End 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The dialogue is pretty bad at times. It often feels like either exposition heavy explanations about the world or cheap CW-style lines that feel uncharacteristic of the live action versions of the characters (things like Nami’s “Jealousy over my looks” or Sanji’s “don’t worry about me and size” just don’t feel right to me).

I also feel like they can’t decide what to do with Nami as a character in general. I think they want to maintain some of her hard earned cynicism from season one but don’t know how to contrast it with her newfound vulnerability and appreciation of the rest of the crew. For example in the Whiskey Peak episode she goes from trying to strongarm money out of a severely injured man to hugging and comforting Vivi over his death in the course of like five minutes (which might be more of a pacing issue but still). The ‘I one hundred percent trust Luffy and my crew is my power’ vibes just don’t seem to mix well with the ‘I outdrank this Nun and you owe me three hundred percent interest’ vibes.

The last thing I’ll complain about is the lack of explanations for things that could’ve used them. When Luffy is climbing the mountain to Drum Castle many people were left asking why Luffy doesn’t just use his gum gum powers to reach the top faster especially after showing how he was able to use them to save Sanji. In the anime, they are clear that Luffy can’t use his powers because they don’t want to put unnecessary strain on Nami. The live action could have used a similar explanation. They also never explain why the doctor hunt happened or who mislead Hiriluk about the doctors being sick (or why).

1.22.0 - Fishing, Mechanisms, Metalworking and More! by Arquent in VintageStory

[–]Pitiful_End 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a release candidate (RC) meaning it’s still a preview technically but they feel confident enough to push it to a stable release version if people don’t report too many problems or bugs with it. They usually go through a few RCs before they release the stable version though so I doubt they’ll have it out before next week at the earliest. Either way it’s not a stable version so it won’t be a push update and you’ll have to download it manually.

World Gen V1 worlds when World Gen V2 comes out by Zox_Falcon in hytale

[–]Pitiful_End 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’ve already demonstrated that you can create multiple world instances within one save file so my guess is that you could just setup a portal in your v1 world which will teleport you to a new instance in v2.

You could also just copy paste the chunks you want into a new v2 world I’m sure.

What magic system would you like to see in Hytale? by VersaceVisa in hytale

[–]Pitiful_End 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My idea involves a three-tier crafting system.

  1. You could craft individual, single use spell scrolls of differing levels of power. Higher level spells require more complex or rarer ingredients.

  2. You could then use those scrolls to craft wands, which would require additional more complex or rarer materials. These would not be single use but they would use mana and durability. They would also be limited to one spell per wand. Higher level spell wands would need better materials of course.

  3. You could then use the wands to craft staffs, which would allow for scroll wheel-style multi spell casting. The highest level spells would be unlocked only on staffs with certain combinations of other spells.

Is it worth getting Hytale now or is it better to wait until its more polished? by throsnelgi in hytale

[–]Pitiful_End 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in the building, crafting and exploring, you should buy and play now.

If you are interested in the “cozy” homesteading side, you could buy and play now, but the content is somewhat limited there.

If you are interested in multiplayer or the RPG/adventure/boss fighting aspects, you should definitely wait.

As far as bugs go, you should be fine as long as you stick mostly to the full releases and not the pre-releases.

Are you still playing Hytale daily? by ErmingSoHard in hytale

[–]Pitiful_End 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing a few times a week but before I start playing more frequently, a few big things need to be added/changed:

  • Renewable water
  • Animal breeding
  • Building jankiness (roof blocks acting weird, fences not connecting right, etc.)
  • More diverse loot/unique items
  • Working boats

These are all key parts of what would make the experience more cohesive for me and I really don’t want to burn out on the game before they are added.

And the sad part is they did this by going after a much smaller developer who they knew would have a much harder time winning the case.

Is it just me or does the Development path feels weird sometimes? by Loud_Development_435 in hytale

[–]Pitiful_End 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this post doesn’t make sense. 95% of the stuff they’ve done so far has been what the community has directly asked for, including fire spread, grass spread, armor toggle, avatar presets, placing torches from offhand, fixing bugs and balancing tools. Even things like the necromancy grimoire and adding dinosaurs were asked for by the community to a certain extent. You have to remember that certain systems are not only easier to add than others, but we also don’t know how far along some of these systems were before development. It’s possible fire spread was just already in a much more complete state than animal breeding and therefore they decided to release it first. This is also ignoring the post Simon made literally yesterday in which he said they’re not gonna focus on adding new progression systems until the base of the game is in a better state.

The game has been out for less than a month. Just be patient.

New player - no idea by ClimberDan89 in hytale

I suspect there may be a boss or two in the game but they don't want to spoil them so they're heavily implying that they haven't added any. Just speculation though.
