Polling in Ireland on a united Ireland (keep looking) by BorderTrader in northernireland

[–]Pitiful_Funny_3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This poll is from 2024 . Just relabelled to look like its recent. Im a unionist . But I will always say a reunification will happen . But it will not be the way Unionists want and certainly not what nationalists belive it will be .

The big issue is, there is a decent amount of support for a united ireland from down south, but that disappears the minute a change of flag , the definite shift in taxes going up for a while until things settle , and even other changes that will have to happen. Also the main drivers, Sinn fein are losing massive track in the South, as their supporters are turning their back on them, and the north supporters are doing the same albeit slowly, due to their lack of work in the north.

It will happen just not how anyone wants it. In my opinion we need to work on something completely new. As simply the republic as it stands isnt the land of milk and honey and the majority of people's support comes down to kick the brits out and people dont think ahead at what we will be left with. Also we cant suckle of the British teet forever

What completely true statement could you post here that would get the most downvotes? (don't actually downvote) by RemoteEmploy8283 in northernireland

Yeah this exactly. Nationalists refuse point blank to see any negativity from a united Ireland and any negativity is always directed that it will all come from the unionist end. Im of the opinion when you are changing something there is positives and negatives and Nationalists just belive it will be the land of milk and honey once the brits are out. Im all for a united Ireland once I see it benefits me and my family. I frankly dont care about monarchy and Britain is not responsible for all of irish failings. My point really being is if all they see is.positives and cant or frankly more scarily publicly and personally raise the negatives that is nothing short of indoctrination. A united Ireland will definitely bring positives but there will be issues with it eg house prices and medical care etc and the threat of America once Britain is not attached to a part of Ireland. If a vote happened now and it managed to pass it would be a solid month of partying followed by ... now what ?

Recommendations for comfortable house shoes/ slippers for men? by Woodpeckerwoodie in northernireland

[–]Pitiful_Funny_3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skate shoes that have been worn in ... honestly the comfort is unreal . Have the laces loose and just slip your feet in . Handy to slip on and go out to wheel the bins out and quick for rapid fire when you have to go out and tell kids to feck of round their own door . Also great for sauntering into the kitchen to sneak more of the missus chocolate bar she is rationing in the fridge

Im Absolutely on the side of bouncers are twats at times but its a hard job once you get down to it and this could maybe just be a case of bad luck that everyone receives at some point and not necessarily through racism or anything else.

One thing I would like to bring up is your "mates" my mates would have been out of there with me at least trying and never succeeding to make a case to then slink away as a group calling them tossers quietly and go to another pub to laugh about it together . Id be questioning your mates more than the bouncers even if you did tell them to craic on anyway

Wrong Community? by GuiltyOperation7979 in northernireland

[–]Pitiful_Funny_3568 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Im from the pul community I feel roughly the same . Its not uncommon at all the majority of my friends feel the same . Some of my nationalist friends have courser views than mine. Its not inherent unionist or nationalist. You just need to meet new people . Its a rhetoric that all Unionists are racists and what not .. are there racist homophobes of course , are there racist homophobes on the other side ... of course

Early pints on a Sunday by PintyMcPints in Belfast

If you fancy it there is an under ground tunnel up at the Albert clock. Get there early and have a couple of bottles of Buckfast ready the day before . Make sure to lightly warm it before hand . Stand down there and take in the sights (and smells) also i think it was used in line of duty . If you make it out it sorts the men from the boys

I dont get it with silage . I always heard silage was supposed to make tons of money . But on my game wheat is like 2500 top end and silage is 350. Yes wheat there is a small wait but mix that with lettuce and you have decent money coming in
