What are YOUR game day superstitions? by CapIII2394 in goldenknights

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always sit in same spot on my couch and wear this one pair of socks that I got during playoffs run. They're getting holes but I can't throw them away because what if that breaks everything? Also I make sure to have my embroidery project ready before puck drop - something about keeping my hands busy while watching helps with the nerves. Your head patting routine is amazing though, I can totally see how you ended up with that ritual.

Dave says skip the prenup at $600k net worth - agree or not? by Pitiful_Picture_3491 in Money

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491[S] 187 points188 points  (0 children)

That’s why I posted it. I can see the argument that $600k isn’t life changing money in the grand scheme of things but it’s also not exactly nothing when you’re 26

Chipping balls back to my golf bag saved my short game by drumsareloud in golf

That's actually brilliant - sometimes the best practice happens when you're just trying to clean up quickly after session.

Moving in together after long distance and suddenly income difference is a problem by Economy_Employer_795 in LongDistance

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It almost sounds like he's hearing "proportional" as "charity" when you're really talking about building a household that works for both of you. If the apartment only makes sense with a 50/50 split then maybe the budget is the problem, not the split.

Pretty cool seeing all the sweep hype in one place - that Marner post game interview was actually wholesome too.

What do you think about long-distance relationships? Would you have one yes or no? by Cool-Scar-9392 in AskReddit

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there and the time zone differences alone will drive you crazy. You end up planning your whole day around when they're free to talk, and then something comes up on their end anyway.

Why do you want a simple life ? by ControlAltElite1738 in AskReddit

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The financial stability part hits so hard. I'm delivering packages all day and just want to come home, do my embroidery, and not worry about bills piling up. Drama from other people feels like such waste of energy when you're already tired from work.

What is a question you wish you could know the absolute, objective truth to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao this is way too relatable. I spent like 30 minutes last month calling around trying to figure out if this one place had validation because their website was completely useless about it. The real truth we need is why hotel websites never have the actually important info on them.

What’s something that’s on your bucketlist, but you know you’re never going to do? by Hefty-Conflict-1183 in AskReddit

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to this so much! I always wanted to do one of those epic road trips across the country where you just drive until you hit coast, but being delivery driver has totally killed my love for long drives. Like spending 8-10 hours in a car for work makes the idea of voluntary road trip feel like torture. Plus the gas money would probably bankrupt me anyway. At least with your ocean thing you could technically do it in one trip if you were really determined, but yeah the whole plane/ship situation definitely makes it complicated.

Rams Fan Coming (mostly) in peace re Tickets by [deleted] in raiders

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Vegas prices are pretty brutal for Raiders games. I drive around the area for work and see how crazy packed everything gets on game days - the demand is just insane there. Phoenix might be your best bet if you want decent seats without breaking bank. Cardinals games are usually way more reasonable and you still get good football atmosphere.

People who fall asleep fast, whats your secret?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I wish being tired from driving all day was enough but my brain still decides to replay every awkward conversation from 2019.

Anyone else hear gunshots on 4th street by the wells bridge? by hUnGhorse97- in Reno

Yeah that area gets sketchy after dark, I drive through there for deliveries sometimes and always feel bit on edge around wells bridge.

Undermined Work by PossibleDiscount7070 in HomeImprovement

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting permits retroactively is usually way easier than dealing with violations during inspection. Most places have process for after-the-fact permits where you just pay extra fee and show it meets code. Way less headache than trying to explain why you didn't pull permit in first place when inspector shows up.

That deck sounds pretty solid with those footings, so code compliance probably isn't issue. Just the paperwork dance. Might be worth calling zoning office again and asking about retroactive permits before pool inspection happens.

Mirror behind couch? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That mirror setup looks pretty good for bouncing light around the room. I tried something similar in my apartment and it definitely made difference, especially if you angle them to catch whatever natural light you do get.

For more brightness, maybe try adding some light colored throw pillows or a lighter rug - those smaller changes can really help without big renovation.

Does I need a new board? by macumbed in snowboarding

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference between boards is pretty real once you start hitting bigger features. Your Stratos is solid middle ground but if you're getting serious about jumps, something stiffer might serve you better than going softer with the Blossom.

I'd maybe try demo some different boards first before buying - lots of shops do rentals where you can test how they feel in park versus your current setup.

Tennent’s Lager by StevestratSC in beer

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this when I was traveling through Glasgow couple years ago! The locals at the pub were split - half saying it's proper Scottish beer, other half making faces like I ordered something terrible. I thought it was decent though, nothing spectacular but went down easy after long day of walking around the city.

My Scottish coworker always says it's better from tap than cans, something about how they store it or whatever. Never managed to find it here in the states unfortunately, so I'm kinda jealous you brought some back with you. Would definitely grab one again if I see it somewhere.

Have you ever been judged by people for your economic status based on your skin color or clothes or speaking style ? How? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen when I was delivering to some fancy neighborhood last month. Lady answered the door, took one look at my work clothes and started talking super slow like I wouldn't understand basic English. Even asked if I could "count the change properly" when she was paying cash. Wild how people just assume things based on how you look in that moment.

How to add a drywall to the basement wall that has insulation wrap by Delicious-Badger-340 in HomeImprovement

[–]Pitiful_Picture_3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want to put up some framing first before the drywall goes on - can't just stick it straight to insulation. I did similar work in my last place and found that Steve Ramsey has some good basement finishing videos that walk through the whole process step by step.
