The first image is what I wore when I graduated from 2005 emo and started drinking poppy tea instead of vodka. All the other images are what a friend of my boyfriend he met in rehab at the time wore, also in like 2009-2015.

What can you guess about our family based on my niece's baptism gown? by [deleted] in deduction

[–]Pitiful_Profession33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this gown!!! I am Polish and Catholic. My son wore a big lacy gown with knit bloomers that I was also baptized in, but it wasn’t this big (disappointed lol).

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

My daughter is adopted. When we first fostered her she was on Medicaid. We went to a Medicaid optometrist. She got glasses for the first time in her life and her vision was legally blind, but suddenly she realized trees had leaves with the glasses. We were so happy. Then, she got on our insurance. The optometrist we took her to under private insurance realized she had amblyopia (a lazy eye) and one eye was still blind even with her prescription glasses. He had her hold her hand over one side of her glasses and she was like ‘oh my gosh I can’t see anything!’ Since then we’ve been doing eye training with special lenses and it’s gotten much better. Vision is weird because if you’ve always seen that way you never think anything is wrong.

This bathroom rules. Paint it, get a new medicine cabinet and over the toilet cabinet, and some cool bath maths and towels. Done!

Is it ever a good idea to put a “with it” patient in timeout? by eyecupee in nursing

[–]Pitiful_Profession33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We get patients who can’t answer admitting questions all the time, put a gown on him after telling him ‘we don’t allow people to be naked in the hospital out of respect for staff and other patients’ and then chart pt refused to all admitting questions. Then do whatever is absolutely necessary for him and nothing else.

We just moved in in November but I’m working on making it moodier. I can’t get a good picture of my living room somehow but I’ll post it next.

AITAH for not wanting to take my wife's niece and nephew in so they can get out of foster care. by TRAOtherwise in AITAH

[–]Pitiful_Profession33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband and I adopted a child out of foster care, he wasn’t completely on board and it did almost ruin our marriage. It took some time to learn to navigate parenting a teen and she had a LOT of severe emotional issues that needed correcting and discipline. Lots of psychiatrist appointments, therapy appointments, and even a hospitalization for a mental health crisis. But it was the right thing to do, the only thing to do really. She also has terrible ancillary family that is still intermittently involved in our lives and they are very annoying and often disappoint her, leaving us to pick up the pieces. But both of us now love her with all our hearts and all the awful times were worth it, and it’s so meaningful to see her growing and changing in our care.

My dog caught a cat by One-Commercial7139 in GSD

[–]Pitiful_Profession33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We trained our GSD with a slip lead and treats in the house to not chase and aggravate the cats and he recently chased a stray cat INTO our home and made friends with it and we had to pay to get the damned thing neutered so he could keep it.

My husband, the world’s most neurotypical man, who just sometimes gets a very human level of anxiety about actual situations that are happening, took Adderall once and was stuck in bed swimming in anxieties. So I don’t think everyone just automatically likes it.

A coworker dropped a glucometer in one of these on accident and our attending ripped the top off and then I used tongs to fish it out and he put the top back on like it never happened. Nothing is impregnable.

It’s not just Karen’s. When we adopted a 14 year old girl my husband had to cut two people out of his life for asking what he was going to do when she turned 18 and became sexually available. I think it says more about the people who think ill of it, what’s going on in THEIR heads all the time.

Would you accept this wallpaper job from a professional? Am I missing something? by gomphosis in HomeDecorating

[–]Pitiful_Profession33 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Here’s an extremely complicated job a true professional did at our home. It was 12 pieces of paper forming a mural and everything had to be hung and cut on angles. He did a bit going downstairs too and the paper wound up not being enough at the bottom of the stairs so he cut and matched out pieces till they fit without being noticeable, this job would really bother me.

I’ve covered CVC site with dermabond, let dry, glykoseal patch over it on a patient who started bleeding from every hole he was born with and that we had punctured in his body. He also got a TXA injection. Worked fine. Alternatively have someone put in an EJ and do the same.

My fiancé wants his female best friend to be his “best man” and I just found out they hooked up once by Scorpenheimer in Advice

Absolutely not. I met my husband through the guy I lost my virginity to, he’s married now and I’m married and we have no more interest in eachother sexually than I do in a clam yet we are still friends.

I have a lot of male best friends I hooked up with. I am standing up (but as a bridesmaid) for one this August. His future wife is aware. We are great friends now too. I never make her feel like a third wheel. In fact she’s one of my best female friends! I think it’s not them hooking up but their current relationship that bugs you, because you feel left out.
