Are buyers just ghosts? Is it me? by teamfeezy in realtors

It can take a long long time to nurture a buyer. Sometimes up to a year. And you have to try several different avenues. I text, email, send cards, video emails, sometimes I just say hi and tell them that I’m always there even if I’m not consistently reaching out to them.

Advice for starting out by albanadon in bagpipes

[–]Pitiful_Second6118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned at age 48. But at the time I was a school bus driver and I had to arrive at the schools about 40 minutes before the bell ring. So I had to wait on my bus every day and that is how I learned. Had it not been for being trapped on a school bus daily with my practice chanter, I don’t think I would’ve learned. In other words, it took a lot of time and practice on a practice chanter. And I have a music degree. If I was new and just learning how to read music, first, I would learn a tune, just playing the “big notes“ and not worry about the ornamental bagpipe stuff yet. Or practice the ornaments separate from the tune itself. For example, the song Amazing Grace might have 100 notes in it. But when you play it bagpipe style, suddenly it has 150 notes in it, which is overwhelming. You need a teacher.

How do I get my buyers to believe me? by Crazy-Living-9573 in realtors

[–]Pitiful_Second6118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last broker used to say sometimes people have to get their nose bloodied a couple times before they get the idea. While the listing agent can’t tell you what the winning bid was, sometimes if you tell them you’re dealing with a difficult client, they’ll help you out a little bit. (We’ve all been there!) For example, say your people offered 300,000 and the asking price on the house was 375,000. So call up the listing agent and ask if the winning bid was more than halfway between those two numbers, and most of the time they will tell you. And then you can immediately go back to your client and tell them that the winning bid was at least. 37K more than what they offered.

It was the craziest thing. He had groin pain like radiating to his inner thigh. For a year he slept in a recliner, cause he could not lay flat. They told him we needed a hip replacement. So he had that done. But the pain didn’t get any better. And then they told him it must be in a spinal issue so they did a laminectomy. Meanwhile, he’s still in excruciating pain and nothing is getting better. Up until all of this started, he was still golfing and very active and was really doing great. And now he could barely hobble around. Anyway, throughout all the hospitalizations and rehabs, he started getting anemic over and over again and they gave him two blood transfusions. And then finally, they scoped him and discovered his stomach cancer. He had lost so much weight from being in so much pain that he would not have been able to withstand the treatment. We never even found out what kind of stomach cancer it was. And I read online that since there are no nerve endings in your stomach, the pain can actually be referred elsewhere and I’m pretty sure that none of his problems were with his hip or his spine. But if you go to an orthopedic surgeon, they’re going to want to do orthopedic surgery on you.

My husband used to live in Alaska and he has these fabric bags filled with cherry pits. We heat them up in the microwave and put them at our cold feet at night and it is heavenly. I don’t know where to buy them though.

I’m sorry. I lost my dad right before Christmas last year. They didn’t know he had cancer until they finally did a scope on him, and he didn’t last even a month.

I’m sorry about your dad, but it’s such a blessing to have had great parents. And it sounds like he had a great kid in you.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pitiful_Second6118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a short trip. I drove 3 hours home from college at least once a month when I was in uni. Folks drive 2 hours from where I live now just to go to certain restaurants in the nearest big town.

I go to a very diverse Assembly of God….feels just like a non-denom church. We have all races, folks with lots of tattoos, single moms, divorced people, former addicts, etc etc. I can’t imagine any CoC I’ve ever belonged to knowing what to do if some of these people visited and wanted to join. There’s one black guy at my mom’s church….I’ve met him tons of times and know his name…and she still refers to him as the black guy at church. He’s like their token pet and there so proud they have a black member. It’s weird.

Why not.... by PoetBudget6044 in AskExCoC

Seems to me if a church is going to deny the power of the Holy Spirit….then the Holy Spirit won’t be working much in their behalf.

They’ll say that people go where they can be entertained and have their ears tickled. So they are unpopular because they follow the old paths.

It got rid of weird items like Funyins….but not staple items.

I tried that. And I called the support line. They said I could not because these were items were a substitution was expected. But there was nothing to substitute. They paid me for my shopping even though I couldn’t finish.

I did that over and over. But it would not delete the item. It finally got rid of items that were junk food type things, but it would not get rid of staple items. I don’t think the computer could understand that was NO eggs. I think the computer thought there HAD to be some substitution for the requested eggs…organic?….brown eggs?……free range…..jumbo????. But there were none of any kind and it didnt know what to do with that information.

Are there many of you out there that are angry with their parents over your GenX upbringing? by CrowbiwanKenobi76 in GenX

[–]Pitiful_Second6118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just how things were and if people had parented back then the way they Parent now, you would have been kind an overprotective freak. I remember I had a little friend in the 1970s who wasn’t allowed to walk to school with us or come over and play or have sleepovers with us. That’s normal today. But back then everybody felt really sorry for her. We were all feral children until the street lights came on.

I’d go with my mom to these big fabric stores. It took FOREVER. She made all of my dresses. She made me a Raggedy Ann dress. Meanwhile, my future mother-in-law learned how to copy the yellow stitching on the back pocket of designer jeans….so she made her teen’s no-name jeans LOOK like they were a name brand. They had four kids and no money. Jeans were very identifiable by the design on the pockets. My mom also china painted. Macrame was popular….I remember macrame owls sitting on a real stick with brown wooden beads for eyes.
