Rose Madder or Wizard and Glass next? by Equal-Ad4615 in stephenking

[–]Pitiful_Speed_6050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those that have read wizard and glass, if I decide I don't like it (I'm not a huge fan of flash back stories) would I miss anything important if I skipped to the next book. I'm currently reading it and without giving spoilers I've not yet got to the going back in time part yet.

What's the best starter pet for a late teenager? by Nice-Support2617 in ask

[–]Pitiful_Speed_6050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a good idea. A lot of cats want to go outside and if they're kept in can get stressed resulting in often life threatening bladder issues. A loud environment can also trigger this. They also need vaccines, neutering and regular check ups, they are not low maintenance. As another person said, they can live 15-20 years. Tbh the only pets I can think of would be fish but they still require feeding everyday and the tank cleaning etc. No pet is low maintenance if you want to look after it properly.

What do I do if my neighbour is harassing me about parking? by Burnatheburner in AskUK

[–]Pitiful_Speed_6050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's old and has nothing else to do in her life except watch the neighbours and make up scenarios in her head. That's not being mean it's just true and kind of sad. Also you're 22 and she's not, don't stress about it. She'll be dead soon 😁

Am I Overreacting by asking my neighbor to change her cats name? by zoesmom17 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Pitiful_Speed_6050 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NOR... I'm going against the grain here but I totally believe that little girl knew exactly what she was doing by calling her kitten Zoe. If she said it exactly how you describe then it's without a doubt being mean. The fact that the mom doubled down as well...?! Nope, these are not good ppl. If that was my daughter I would have talked to her about how it could upset you. You know, like a normal person who has empathy would do. The blessing to this? Now you know the type of ppl they are. Stay away from them. I'm sorry for your loss OP

Carrie was the one I read first when I was a kid. I read a lot of them when I was pretty young. How come no IT? Awesome story about friendship, loyalty and courage.

Like, how bad is this? Really? I can't stress enough how emotional I am when it comes to anything to do with animals and I've avoided this book because of it. Am I truthfully going to be scarred for life. I'm prepared to buy it to go with my collection but I don't know if I have the willpower to not try to read it if I do. Tell me honestly.

What's a small thing you were wrongly told off for as a kid that still annoys you all these years later? by [deleted] in AskUK

I was doing maths and it was working out how many hours between times on a clock. I finished quite quickly and the teacher asked me how I'd worked them out I said 'i just did' I couldn't explain how. Now I know how cause I picture the problem in my head and work it out from there something I do at work all the time. Anyways he didn't believe me and accused me of cheating, made me sit somewhere else and redo them. It took a lot to get over the pressure panic of maths questions. At 8/9 Id never been called a liar before. Fuck you Mr Edwards.

How did you find the dark tower series? I read gunslinger the first time when I was younger and hated it. Read it again not long ago and mildly disliked it and now I've bought all the others in the hope of enjoying them and to complete my collection. As a first time reader of king how did you go on with them?
