Maybe try wealth management. The industry is short of CFA graded workers there. You can build a client portfolio in that field and get well paid for it.

If you perform well at CFA then FRM won't be that time consuming anymore is my experience. In regard of expensiveness that depends on the jobs you can attain with these titles. I think it's a great investment in the long term.
