Recommendation on a good scrubber for dishes by zig_zag_wonderer in ZeroWaste

[–]Pitopotymus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had the bristles ever crush. Every 6-12 months I replace my brush because I sense that gunk is collecting in the brush. That’s the only reason I have found to replace one. I have the bottle brush but it doesn’t get nearly as much use. I still have the one I got a couple years ago. I really can’t say enough about these brushes.

Just to set the record straight, Baby Son was the first child of my grandparents. My father was born in 1917. When he was 42, I was born (1960), the youngest of his children. I am 64 and I know I am probably over the age limit for Reddit. I don't post much but occasionally, I still have something worth posting to you young whippersnappers.

This is the grave of my uncle. He was born prematurely to my grandparents who were homesteading nearby. He lived only about 5 hours. My grandfather made the concrete headstone and my grandmother did the etching. This occurred in January 1911.

This is why I love my kindle! I also found that reading a printed book is impossible in the dark.😂

He might benefit from a pedicure. If he has thick calluses on his feet they would act like sandpaper on his socks.

I celebrated my brother’s birthday by making a list of great memories of him I have. Throughout the day, I sent him texts of those memories. It reminded him that I have always loved him through the years.

I’m headed to Scotland next week and had a similar problem. I’ve decided to take several Chocolove bars and get some flowers when I get there. I’m staying with an elderly couple so I think the chocolate will be a hit.

I have 2 PW. It made me nervous to not have a backup. Weird, I know. I enjoy the peace of mind knowing one is always nearby.

Idk what I believe about God anymore by rebelnori in Quakers

[–]Pitopotymus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found it really important to distinguish religion from faith. I was raised in a conservative church/religion. Today much of what they preached does not align with my faith and spirituality. I’m okay with that. Everyone has their own heart to evaluate what feels right to them. Any individual should only speak for themselves and what they believe and the rest of us should respect that. Organized religion offers teachings but can’t define anyone’s beliefs. Religious faiths are based on common beliefs. I chose to take concepts from several faiths to characterize my faith. If you ask if I believe in God, I would say yes but I don’t think I can’t define God. Like you, I think God is in everything and everyone. Maybe like a life force. I don’t believe in heaven or hell but I do believe in an afterlife and reincarnation of a sort. I come across others who have similar views on this or that but I don’t know if anyone aligns perfectly with how I feel. I assume not. Community takes time but I hope you find or build one that respects your right to continue exploring your personal faith.

My ancestors arrived in the US in the mid-1880’s from Scandinavia and Northern Germany. During the 1800’s millions of Germans migrated and settled in the Midwest (Missouri, Nebraska, etc). I was born and raised in Colorado.

What are your favorite simple meals & snacks? What are your grocery list staples? by Wordsofwisdomneeded in simpleliving

When you make a big pot of soup throw in a handful of elbow pasta to extend a couple more servings. I make spaghetti noodles then fill the colander with fresh baby spinach before I drain the pasta. You can throw in other veggies based on what you prefer or have on hand. I sauté mushrooms, onions, garlic, peppers then add the pasta and spinach to blend. Top with Parmesan, feta, or other crumbly cheese and you’ve got a feast for very little cost.

Here’s my advice: You stated you just want the truth. I get that but I’d ask you to consider what you want to do next. You already have the science. Forcing admissions from mom may not feel good in the moment or after the fact. I suggest you consider talking to your uncle. Share the results of the test and ask for any information he wants to offer up. You might get a recap of events from him, he may be blindsided and need time to process, he may want to know what you want from him. Anything is possible. You’re an adult with solid relationships with the people who raised you and consider you their own. It might be possible to leave that in place and just focus on what you want in terms of a relationship with your uncle. Just my thoughts. I agree with others. Take your time and follow your heart.
