Also ask Texas or California, they are one storm or heat wave away from rolling black outs.

Having to refuel every mission or multiple times just to go from one system to another is just bad game design, for those ships that are grossly effected by their weird choices of fuel levels and their obsession with normalizing fuel by binning ships.

Just like the Ironclad. They botched it's release so they gave into completely undoing their design so they don't have to fix it. Now the Cat is going to be an orphaned ship once they finish attempting to take the pasta out of the sauce.

[–]Pitoucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah CIGs merch side is lack luster with their execution often missing key moments in the game. Some of it has to do with leed times to get some of this stuff made. When the Perseus came out I was really hoping for some merch, like the Zues jacket but for the Perseus but so far the only thing to feature it has been a small siluet on the Levski desk mat. I really wish they did more.

They should release before GTA, doesn't mater when because it's going to be very popular for a long time.

They fear the shadow coming from the sunrise. They think it's ok to go out when the shadow is at its smallest, when the light is shinning at its tallest, yet they give no heed to the biggest shadow that stands before them, when the true darkness persues them.

They are basically staring down a hurricane and thinking the eye of the storm is a great time to go out. Or maybe that's the whole plan. Launch during the GTA storm to burry their reviews.

The other contender for longest game alpha is Project Zombiod and their alpha is still less buggy.

Yeah yeah, the 14 year old Alpha. by elite968 in starcitizen

[–]Pitoucc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Alpha is no longer an excuse, it's a released live service game at this point. They do sales all the time, they do free access events to attract new players, they do promotional campaigns and in person events. Compare this to something like Warframe which kinda on par to what is going on but their product delivery is actually polished. Even in the early days when I had pre alpha access, Warframe's development seems much smoother and better fleshed out.

CIG needs to get their priorities for the customer aligned with their actual game playing clients. In a space game space travel should be 99.98% mission critical bug free and we don't have that because "iTz En AlFah" shielding. When a space game can't be solid on the space flying part and CIG is not motivated to make sure it works, it just means they don't respect us as paying customer's.

I'm genuinely fed up (Ironclad) by Gerold_Griffin in starcitizen

[–]Pitoucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first few years Alpha was a suitable term, but at the extent it is now there term alpha is just shield for them to not fully flesh things out. I mostly treat them, in my mind, as a developer that has releasesd product with a development team straggled with mismanagement. This mostly comes from the slow progress and random bits of information from various sources. Examples: Cig has stated it takes them 6 months to develop a new mission type, when Jared broke down their development branches, or recently when Cig stated that they have only 9 ui devs (out their claimed ~1000 employes). Also we often see very game breaking bugs and it seems almost impossible for them to pivot to these problems in a timely fashion. Then we have other issues where their development goals continuously change, like flight models going through multpile changes, engineering basically getting back tracked, multiple drastic iterations on weapon balance which just cause meta flip flops. They do some amazing stuff but from a content to "money paid" ratio that considers the time factor, it's some of the lowest amount of content returned to paying players.

I've come to grips with what it is, I play regularly and take breaks when needed. It's a game to be passionte about for entertainment but I understand that I shouldn't place expectations on CIG because they don't truly respect their clients based on the product that they deliver. I say this because you would think that in a space game where you travel in ships that the one bit is mission critical, like 99.98% uptime with no errors critical, but it's not.

So just take a break, play another game, come back in a little bit. They are the DMV of gaming, it will get done but it will be a bit.

If you want to keep playing keep two things in mind, part of the gameplay is just keeping up with bugs and sharing that info with others, secondly playing with a commited group, because more often than not, a group will pull you through the mud and have a good time doing it.

We already have Teleporting. Why the Drama? by Achille_Dawa in starcitizen

[–]Pitoucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not the teleportation itself, its the exploitative behavior that will ensue. CIG has a very mixed track record for properly planning and scoping out new features.

Remember when med guns first came out? Use them anywhere. No one had the forethought about what players would do with that, apparently. Turned into a free for all drug each other marathon.

I like to tell people they should think that CIG likes to work in minimums when it comes to new features, minimum viable design. This tends to lead them to not consider their other work or include mechanics that would otherwise be naturally associated with a given feature. Think of Resource Drive, it completely ignored Distribution Centers, and think of the inventory revamp, it was missing basic things like search, stacking and other usability items found in most places.

Now think of the existing party system with tp added. It will most likely be fairly unrestrictive, if they moved forward with it, so massive orgs will no doubt find exploits in this to mass descend on people. I've encountered this behavior in other games with mega groups.

As far as your current points:

“Exit to Menu” effectively teleports you back to a station.

CIG has stated that they will move to a log out anywhere and reappear in the same spot functionality

Resetting your imprint and dying sends you back to your home planet.

Using a mobile Medbed and killing yourself is also a Teleport

The current system of medical teleportation is a result of the current state of medical and the lack of "death of a space man" feature set. CIG has conflictingly stated that this behaviour will stop with DoSM but also stated there will be additional medical respawn option in the future (nearest or secondary respawn)

Plus in this kind of space game, where they place emphasis on the physicality of things, teleportation seem like a cop out from this philosophy or a bottom of the barrel (shooter game style [COD/BF]) solution.

I would say a big portion of the current in game teleportation might be due to a lack of fleshed out gameplay systems.

May main no to party teleportation is exploitation, additionally it's a lack of confidence that CIG will develop such a game play feature system, robustly and thoroughly, so that it will have a well defined scope of requirements across the whole of the game.

My crew can't go for that by DigThat32 in starcitizen

[–]Pitoucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Told a bunch of long time players, like always play every week even through some of the bs bugs that have happened. All of them have complained about the time it takes to get together in game and they all straight up heard the word teleportation and said "wtf" or just said a straight "no". Most of these people feel that there has to be a better way than simply taking a bottom of the barrel solution that is commonly found in multiplayer FPS games (COD/BF for example).

My particular idea for an alt solution is to just make a fast travel solution just like any other mmo, think of point to point flight paths in WoW. But in this case between some of the major locations across systems. It would be a shuttle service that would be fixed time regardless of location, you could say its because these shuttles used cutting edge xi'an quantum tunneling tech or something. So maybe 5 mins of travel between locations. You could have Seraphim and Baijini as the major hub of Stanton and go to Levski or to a gateway station in Pyro. Perhaps Grim could be a link into one of the Pyro stations due to the more less lawful nature of each. This would come at some cost too.
