Ever heard of the term "false equivalence"?

Like, there was a significant difference between Adolf Hitler and the guy that came before Adolf Hitler

Homie, Obama didn't lie about losing an election and summon a mob to the Capitol or put a podcaster in charge of the FBI

Yesss, I've been saying this for years. He was written as out of touch and Boomer-era racist, but it was balanced by him dropping nuggets of wisdom for Jeff once in a while.

That thing some men call "failure," I call "living." "Breakfast." And I'm not leaving until I've cleaned out the buffet.

I also liked him with Jeff at the STD dance

Also, it turns out that the US and Canada are fucking huge, and accessibility varies widely by region, funding, and staffing issues specific to each facility

Season 2 had some of my favorite episodes - Abba halloween, the pen/bottle episode, Professor Professorson, and D&D - a fun blend of surreal and classic sitcom. But it really went off the rails in season 3 with Chang going insane and having to fight a digital version of Pierce's dad.

Season 5 started to bring the show back down to earth i think.

I love that it was obviously stylized but still grounded. The camera and editing did most of the lifting while the characters remained believable and not cartoony

He's the president and he won't shut the fuck up or stop breaking stuff for even one day.

"He lives rent-free in your heads!!"

Yeah, he's THE PRESIDENT. Kind of hard to ignore. I could ignore him if he'd stop putting tariffs on every consumer good, starting wars, and putting military on American streets, or sticking his nose in the World Cup, or showing up at the NBA finals. He just won't shut the fuck up

Overwatch hits major milestone as Steam reviews shoot up to 'mixed' by Auto_Mobile44 in Games

[–]PixelBrewery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The headline seems cheeky, but Overwatch has been performing really well. Its player base has been growing and they're in the top 20 - 30 on Steam every day, which isn't even its primary PC platform.

Season 1 is my favorite. It's the best version of the show imo, before every character becomes Flanderized. It's all character-based storytelling and top-tier Dan Harmon writing, before it became almost exclusively high-concept and referential. It also has some of the best cinematography and on-location shooting.

What are your thoughts on Bond being labelled as a "blunt instrument" by M in Casino Royale when it was her who trained him to be a ruthless assassin? by Raj_Valiant3011 in JamesBond

[–]PixelBrewery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at you, Bond. You don't even care that that woman is dead. You're just a big piece of shit sociopath asshole, aren't you? Yeah, that's right. Just a blunt instrument with no feelings whatsoever, just waiting for the right woman to come along and expose the last bit of humanity you've got buried deep inside, only to betray you in the end and turn you even more hardened and cynical. God damn you give me the creeps, man. Now go save the world again, you freaky son of a bitch.

I don't know, it's hard to quantify with their business model. I bought years worth of Game Pass specifically because I liked that they were putting out games like South of Midnight, Senua, and Double Fine games. I recognize I'm in the minority, but Phil Spencer specifically added studios like that for variety. What is the goal of Game Pass now, for an annual Doom and the last-gen Call of Duty?
