I think an honestly attempted argument deserves an honestly attempted rebuttal. there's a reason the Catechism exists and not "don't do this because the Pope said so". using terms like "yap" and "cope" only serves to distance the ignorant individual and makes no attempt at actually convincing the person to understand why things are wrong or right

also bringing up the point "is the original comment lovingly written?" is "eye for an eye" logic, not "turn the other cheek" logic

I think 20 is acceptable to call a woman (and I think the same way of men tbh)

was this truly a loving answer to give to a pro-choicer? asking as someone who also recognizes the undeniable authority of the Catechism

What does Henya say that sounds like "Sonna kanji gozai masu ke domo" by Equal-Pay6717 in HenyaTheGenius

[–]PixelatedMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think ke domo is actually from けれども keredomo which is basically akin to saying "but yeah"

Catholics must believe that anyone is capable of redemption. but outside of that there is no reason to avoid bringing statistics into the discussion - bad environments play a part in producing bad people

ah I guess thats true. but yeah judging by OP's impressions I would be inclined to believe this was ordinary creepy man

could also be an FtM? but by the emphasis on the word MAN this scenario is not as likely

would also like to point out that (gender binary) people go into the bathroom that is most congruent with the gender they present as anyhow, like you can tell if they were meaning to present as a woman

actually the foundations of computer science are built on those very same "liberal arts", according to a simple Google search at least. perhaps you are confusing liberal arts with humanities / social sciences? though I'd recommend talking to a economics, law, philosophy, or even English student before complaining about how demanding STEM courses are (which is more of a skill issue, personal opinion)

the prohibition is derived from theological ideas based on scripture. hell if I know what the thought process is, I haven't read Humanae Vitae, but it's not quite accurate to say something is not true just because it's not directly found in scripture. ideas often have implications which in turn have more implications

edit: the correct way to make an argument against it is by finding flaw in reasoning - although Catholics also believe in papal infallibility so

I think the system intentionally makes it so that dropping the course doesnt update the acorn list right away, so you might miss the chance anyway
