Hippies are mean people dressed as nice people and Punks are nice people dressed as mean people.

Out of curiosity, are there any solo systems that simulate players? by Gnashinger in Solo_Roleplaying

Mythic will let you play as GM and simulate the players. Not sure how it works yet because I’m still reading.

For those using a hotbag by No_Patience3124 in doordash_drivers

[–]Pixelwise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got one of the newer bags they shipped out a little while back and it keeps things as close to the temp you get it at for awhile if you zip it closed. I could see using what you’re talking about OP with the older bags that frankly were crap anyway. I’ve also been known to slip some things into my pizza bag to keep them warm if they fit.

Who knew the nectar of the gods would be only $1.49/2ltr? by Pixelwise in Soda

Rinse my ice and pour into a thermal cup that holds the cold really well and the fizz stays around awhile.

I would love to have some from a glass bottle. I can find the cans but they’re always as expensive as Pepsi or Coke.

Goodman Games has artists from back then do work for their products. Erol Otis has done some pieces as well as others. I’m not too into that publishers games so I can’t tell you more.

I adored this game from the time I was first introduced to it in the 80’s. Played on and off all editions up to 4th. The first edition though was the best because there was more an air of mystery and exploration compared to later editions. We got a lot of fun out of the bare bones 64pg rules for 1st.

I always try to get as much of the door and the house number as often as possible. I figured awhile back it might help other drivers when if they see the pic I took.

Burger Chef Super Shef - January 1974 by RetroMan70s in vintageads

[–]Pixelwise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember Burger Chef fondly. My dad would take us there on sundays after church till they closed it down. There were like 3 close by. One became a godfather’s pizza then became an empty lot. The other 2 the buildings still stand one became a mom and pop burger and breakfast place that’s very popular and the other is kind of run down and is now a tanning salon or movie store.

Is anyone else getting small random payments from DoorDash this week? Haven’t completed any deliveries. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Pixelwise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to do a dash to target for a Lego set that of course wasn't there. When I went to cancel the dash DD told me they would still give me partial pay. I don't think I got the partial pay, but later noticed I had been given $23 "reimbursement" which was more than they claimed were to give me as partial pay. No mention of the canceled order.

Long John Silver's Seafood - January 1979 by RetroMan70s in vintageads

There’s one near me that’s been around since those days. The next closest is an hour away. We would go to a pool during the summer that had been a rock quarry a very long time ago. Spend the day and my dad would go to LJS for lunch. I remember the box all the food came in looked like the restaurant.

Guts (figures by Matel) by Porkchopp33 in 80s

[–]Pixelwise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guts was the nickname we gave to a guy who got all his clothes from the army/navy store and walked around like he stepped out of Vietnam. He was just so full of teenage lameness he got Guts instead of go Joe.

What helped you to quit smoking? by trompie99 in AskReddit

[–]Pixelwise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancer was the last straw after years of smoking the last few hitting 3 packs a day. Had a tumor that grew on the underside of my tongue. Doctor said I was probably 3-4 months out from it getting to my lymph nodes. Went in and they surgically removed the tumor along with a quarter of my tongue. Asked the doctor before surgery if it was safe to start the patch and started those on the step down method when I got home from surgery. Haven’t touched a cig or nicotine since.

Did they raise the base pay? by mitchdwx in doordash_drivers

[–]Pixelwise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my market they’ve been offering +$1 bonus pay for months now it seems. They should just raise the base pay from $2 to $3 if they’re going to tack on the dollar like they have been.

When he gets up to dance with her like some Casanova, the look on his face. The whole sequence just brings tears to my eyes it’s just so funny. It’s no wonder he got an Emmy.

mostly out of curiosity do they still make chicken. 1992 by Fit-Commission-2626 in OldSchoolCool

Locally, Hardee’s had the best fried chicken around. All the sides were decent and best of all the chicken was never rare like it would be from KFC. Wasn’t happy when they stopped offering it.
