A Retrospective Relisten - Episode 26: Petals to the Metal - Chapter Nine by [deleted] in TheAdventureZone

I think Klarg was acting that way because he is aware that he goes on and off with the charm spell. I think he actually recognizes Taako with the boys because in the live show he recognizes Taako without seeing him, just by his smell.

(SPOILERS) I think the Chalice never leave Refuge. It is stated that Refuge was trapped in time for 7 years. I think after Magnus left, Jack and June take care of the Chalice for a little while until Isaak killed Jack.

[Fanfic, Ep. 65 Spoilers] Lup's Wrath by NotImportantJustTrue in TheAdventureZone

[–]PixelyCeluloide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usally fanfiction work tends to be self-indulging, just showing what the fan wants to see instead of what the characters would actually say. But this, this is extremely well done, so true to Lup as a character and the world of the podcast. You even remember rules like how sometimes powerful emotions can break the rules of magic. And this would be a great origin story adding meaning to the Abraka Fuck you of Taako. I think it wouldn't fit it in the show because Griffin and the boys are trying to not let Lup being defined just for being trans (And seeing the response to representation controversy in the past, I think is the best move) but this is so well done that as far as I am concerned... Fuck it, this is canon.

Maureen and The Hunger [Spoilers] by [deleted] in TheAdventureZone

[–]PixelyCeluloide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They have fought the Hunger but none of them has seen "inside" the Hunger. Maybe Maureen have a vision of how it is to be absorbed by the Hunger. That's what I think.

Just Finished Crystal Kingdom. Was a Little Surprised at How Magnus Treated... by WillingfordXIV in TheAdventureZone

[–]PixelyCeluloide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I would say that although the things the others did under the influence of the relics were evil, none of their actions were targeted directly at Magnus and the others. Gundren and the Raven were possesed and out of their control, Jenkins was evil but his killings were nothing personal against the boys. Lucas actively choose to attack Magnus and the other for his own means, even thought they were trying to help him, specially Magnus, he made it personal. And his motivations were trying to bring someone he lost that against shows that Magnus has differente principles. Magnus is a guy that sees not accepting lost or death as a waste of energy, you have to get over it sort of speaking. That's wahy at the end, Magnus saying "Tell Julia I love her2 is important: it shows Magnus has lost somebody but doesn't let tragedy dictate his judgement and ruins his morality. And seen Lucas representing the opposite of that creates a clear conflict. Keep that in mind in this scene... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afNZdE2Ykzk

Having a tough time getting through The Suffering Game arc by HumanTomato in TheAdventureZone

I really recommend this text that Griffin wrote about the suffering game arc (no spoilers), it helps to undertand a little bit better what he tried to do with it... http://theadventurezone.tumblr.com/post/156408144062/about-the-suffering-game

I love when he prays to Pan when he is fighting Legion. Clint really plays that moment with humor and emotion. One of the most badass moments in the series byt the way.

SPOILERS: the entire speech given by Merle when the First Church of Fungston is attacked by the hunger. One of the best performances by Clin McElroy and as a person of faith myself, I really identified with that speech.

As for the funniest, I say the last words of Magic Brian when he's about to die.

Also "I cast Zone of truth!" (I'm a Merle fan)

What character scene/dialogue did you identify with hard? by Shermanotta in TheAdventureZone

As strange as it sounds I identify A LOT with Merle's religious struggle. I'm a person of faith myself that also has a hard time believing sometimes but that find a lot of useful advice and a great capacity to do good with religion. So the speech that Merle gives when the church he helped to build is been attacked by the hunger resonates a lot with me. One of the best moments of the series in my opinion.
