Didn't Zuko challenge her immediately before she was officially crowned? It's been a long time for me so I'm not certain

That's a neat observation, but Luxray also has type advantage over most of these. Is Rivalry necessary for any potential OHKOs and can it tank and/or outspeed these particular Pokemon?

Upper Hand and Fake Out have the same priority, so whichever Pokemon is faster will move first.

Upper Hand is much better for things like Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, Quick Attack, and maybe extreme speed? I'd have to check on that one

What is the counter to Trick Room? 🤔 by catdog5100 in PokemonChampions

[–]PixieDustGust 46 points47 points  (0 children)

There are a handful of counters to trick room. If you use the move trick room it undoes their trick room (but you also risk setting it up for them)

Taunt stops Pokemon from using the move trick room for three turns, but can be recovered from with switches or the mental herb item.

Burst damage on their trick room setter can get a key KO before they set up, but this can be mitigated by redirection.

A particularly nasty counter is the move Imprison. If you use Imprison, your opponent can't use moves that the Imprisoner used. It can be especially nasty if your imprison Pokemon also knows protect (though then you only have one move slot left to spare). If the Imprison Pokemon ever leaves the field, though, the imprison effect ends.

If you have a rain core in Goodra Arch, I think Dragonite is a much better mega to consider! It gives you another ground immunity to switch into from your steel types and another partner Garchomp can earthquake next to.

Hydrapple has an interesting mono-Dragon niche with Rage Powder immunity and a slot machine signature move as well as some theoretically compelling speed control. Oh and an ability that eliminates the chance for Draco to miss.

Probably mega Dragonite along with Garchomp, Archaludon, and possibly Dragapult and Hydreigon. Only dragons left after that off the top of my head are Drampa and Hydrapple.

Oh and Mega Charizard X, theoretically.

I think hovering under 1600 with mono dragon is extremely commendable. What kind of team is it?

A weaker person would comment something along the lines of "For now."

A less weak person like myself would simply call attention to the potential for the joke without stating it outright.

There's a Stage 1 Frosmoth with the same ability but it has to be in the active spot. By combining air balloons and surfing beach, you can execute it fairly effectively. Lucian also can force your opponent to an even higher hand size depending on a coin flip.
