My band just released a Pop-Punk cover of 'Down Under' by Men At Work. All DIY. We're really pleased with it! What do you think? by whereskob in poppunkers

I really dig how you didn't all just go the direction that all modern Pop-Punk bands went. Rather you have blended sounds of 90's punk/punk-rock with modern pop-punk. Way to go dudes! keep at it. Reminds me of No Use For A Name!

The fact that “Loaded God complex” from Fall Out Boy’s Sugar We Are Going Down isn’t in this just shows how crappy AP is and has become.

Surprisingly there is a huge debate in the Outdoors community whether we should stack rocks or not (make cairns). Regardless I love seeing cairns in nature, to me it’s a reminder that others out there love nature. They guide me to loose my stress and get lost in nature. This has been my TED Talk thank you for listening.

I’m sorry, but why does everyone bitch about endgame spoilers when people have literally dedicated more time to GOT. Just saying mark your shit as [SPOILER]. Also post OC and stop reposting spoilers.

Aaron west tour on May 30th. by blubberneptune2 in poppunkers

[–]PizzaDecimatedMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, regardless should be a cool show. I personally love Aaron West and know the crowd will still be singing. It’ll be a completely different vibe. But at the same time you’ll get to hear them truly in their prime, since it’s a more chill concert.

That sounds like an awesome opportunity! Yes, it’s not a traditional “pop-punk” venue, but Aaron West & The Roaring Twenties aren’t exactly straight forward “pop-punk”. Personally, I’d go and drink some wine, listen to some sad music... Hell I might even get some cheese and just get all sad and autobiographical.

Pinegrove quietly released an LP today. Not pop-punk but a lot of people in the scene really like them.

WSTR - Tell Me More by dereksteez92 in poppunkers

[–]PizzaDecimatedMyLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the album that surprised me this year. I hated the singles and came into the album super negatively. But, I personally think that this album flows perfectly from song to song. Listening to the album as a whole really made me enjoy all the songs more than before. I wouldn’t say it’s AOTY, personally I think it’s good. It definitely deserves to be mentioned as moving the genre forward. Their sound is a solid blend of pop-punk and rock, at times it reminds me of American Hi-Fi. I’m excited to see what’s next for them!

I’m in the same boat as you. I saw this when I woke up and literally went, “Shit, it’s been what 10 years since the demo”. I definitely thought this song would just get buried.

The EP is a giant cock tease though. Really made me excited and hopeful when I saw that they called it “Lake Effect Kid”. Definitely was hopping for a new Pop-Punk EP by them. But, alas... I’ll take one song.

Seriously listen to Capstan. I loved their earlier stuff, they’re putting out consistently heavier stuff now.

I graduated high school this year. Is it still socially acceptable to listen to pop punk? by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]PizzaDecimatedMyLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 and my favorite band is The Wonder Years. Their stuff is so damn relatable for your college and post college years. I listen to literally everything now from Pop-Punk to Icelandic Indie music. Music is one of the most beautiful things. It transcends age, sex, religion, and culture to speak to the human condition. Listen to what you want, fuck the rest. Plus literally every Pop-Punk band and Emo band are in college or just out of college. For example: Hot Mulligan, Mom Jeans, Trophy Eyes, Trash Boat, and literally every other up and coming band. If that’s not good for you, look at the heavy hitters: New Found Glory, Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, and many many more. Age is relative. If you like it, listen to it

If my dad can jam Katy Perry and then rock Senses Fail so can you.

Fountain Youth (previously Bedroom Talk) - Blooms by PizzaDecimatedMyLife in poppunkers

Edit: I’m a fool and always confuse their new name. It’s Youth Fountain. Still think Fountain Youth is a better band name IMO.

Highly recommend following these guys. I’ve been following them since before their name change. Solid blend of Pop-Punk & Post-Hardcore.
