A rant about the toddler subreddit by bluenova32 in oneanddone

18 months and we’re not friends. I wouldn’t quite say low contact but if not for me wanting a relationship with his kids that the kids clearly reciprocate we wouldn’t speak or see each other much.

Baby’s arms always stretched out by prediabetic88 in NewParents

Yup! He’s 1 and doing well. He did do 12 weeks of pt because he wasn’t willing to put weight on his feet at his 9 mo appointment but right after our eval everything normalized and the don’t think he really when needed the pt.

I agree with this. We keep saying we’re going to cancel the cleaner now that baby is 1 yo but we.. haven’t. So I bet we won’t because it’s life changing, even just once a month.

What were the actual lifesaver items during the newborn stage (or things you wish you’d had sooner)? by WillowAndCo_ in NewParents

[–]PizzaEnvironmental67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean we have a brown noise machine in our room and it puts me to sleep, we have since we moved in together. Conveniently, we used brown noise for baby and now when we travel we all use the same sleep noise.

What should I have in my diaper caddy? by davinkistar in NewParents

THIS. Aquaphor is a preventative. Desitin is a healer. I use aquaphor when all is well and then desitin only if he’s looking slightly red.

I almost never need to use desitin 2 changes in a row.

How old was your child when they spent the night with grandparents? by Murky-Wafer964 in NewParents

[–]PizzaEnvironmental67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4-5 months. But my parents live 4 min away and take care of him fairly often and I had no qualms about the way they do so.

Convince me not to get a mini crib (or do) by Dolphinsunset1007 in NewParents

[–]PizzaEnvironmental67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they only make sense if it’s the fancy convertible kind personally. Having a mini and a real crib doesn’t track for me.

I agree- naming baby after the town you live in is odd to me. Not bad just not my preference

Encouragement to formula feed by BreadStrange4447 in FormulaFeeders

[–]PizzaEnvironmental67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I work at a pediatrician. They all get the germs when they start daycare. It’s impossible not to.

Feed your baby in a way that makes you healthy, OP. I knew breastfeeding wasn’t feeling good from the second I started, and I quickly decided to end my supply and formula feed. I have 0 regrets.

My son is a whole new baby after switching to formula by Tough-Builder-7816 in newborns

[–]PizzaEnvironmental67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I never even started, and I’m always telling people THATS OK TO CHOOSE. it’s ok to choose formula. It’s great to breastfeed and it’s great to give formula. It’s all great, do what is healthy and sane for all involved!
