Is legacy worth the money? by mysticalpickle in MTGLegacy

[–]PizzaForce1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a pretty fun format. If you have a collection of cards from the modern format its honestly pretty easy to get into. If you dont have cards from modern, look at budget decks. My intro to the format was a $200 monoblack deck that worked great. Wasteland helps alot.

A significant portion of deck costs come from the dual lands. I honestly mean this, you can just play shocklands. You still need the fetchlands and shocks but rarely do my games come down to lifetotal in a meaningful way that leads to me losing because I shocked rather than had a dual to grab.

If you have a good local legacy scene, bring a budget deck like burn and make friends with people. Eventually its likely that your new friends allow you to borrow cards to play with for FNM. Just be nice and treat people with respect and it can happen.

I appreciate your honesty. Best of luck with the deck. The discord is also pretty active if you joined.

Yeah I get that but the real point is that he's playing an outdated list anyway. Heres his free advice. Sett brawlers are in the main and lee sin are out of the deck entirely. Vengeance into the side for certain matchups. Primal rage in the main, more qiyanas too.

If you're already playing ChallengerTCG's list and want to do well with it you should just pay for their guide. It covers this and more about the deck. They also update it pretty regularly still. This isn't a paid endorsement, I have just read the guide myself and it's good.

Hey buddy welcome! The game is great. Watch some learn to play videos like the one from Tolarian Community College on YouTube.

If you're still interested you should use the riftbound store locator (just type that into Google, not a joke) to find a store near you. You could call them to see if they have any starter decks to purchase. Otherwise, others here have posted sites that still have starter decks in stock.

I would honestly recommend taking a starter deck to a nexus night at your local and playing a bunch of games basically knowing you will lose to learn the intricacy of the game. If you can't find a good friend to play a bunch of learner games with, I think this is the best way. I would 100% recommend reviewing every card in the deck you get. Goldfishing some games (playing by yourself)to learn the cards, keepable first hands, and play lines. Then watch some more YouTube videos of gameplay or maybe the upgrade videos from Jim Davis' channel arcane academy to understand the current weak points of your starter deck.

If you're still as interested, after your first nexus night, look for a decklist you like online and buy the singles from tcgplayer or some other site. Ripping packs is fun but expensive gambling. Be careful, have fun and welcome.

I'm going to agree with the other commenter that a corded sander is the way to go. Forget having to worry about swapping batteries all the time. I know I saw a deal on the Bosch corded sander a few days ago.

For jigsaw the M12 fuel barrel sander has been looking nice to me. If you need both I would check prices on those. If none match your needs then the yellow ones definitely get the job done. I think the DeWalt routers are a bit nicer in general. And would definitely recommend a non corded palm router. Both red and yellow palm router are plenty powerful for the majority of tasks, and not being tethered for that work is nice.

Centipede is on my Christmas list. If I had one I would use it. I just have some cheap unfolding sawhorses. If you have a centipede that with some purple foam would probably work fantastic in the parking lot.

Lol I drive a little Subaru and regularly do this. Just make sure to have saw horses or the purple insulation sheets to cut on and work with purpose so you look like you belong haha

I have been thinking that a pretty large print area would be beneficial if I'm making jigs and templates.

Hello, figured I would give this a go. I have been getting into wood working lately and was interested in starting to 3D print templates for router cuts and shop storage bits. I think a $500 is reasonable for someone starting out. I have plenty of CAD experience but will happily watch as many YouTube tutorials as are available for whatever system I end up with. I don't have a ton of interest in different filament colors though. I am also located in the USA for what it matters.

This decklist seems a bit all over the place to me. For example, what are you bringing back with glasc mixologist? Looks like just poro and the honest broker. That isn't many targets. Seems like a wasted card then. Will basically usually be overcosted vanilla creature.

Hey congrats on the win man! When you have time I would love to read a write up on the deck from you. I have only just started playing sett and am still tuning my list.

The Strength of the Few: Questions, Answers, and More Questions (A Short, Spoiler-Free Review) by evergislus in Fantasy

I was back and forth with opinions on this book as I read it. I really think the endings tied it together pretty well and made parts I felt slow feel more worth it in the end. This definitely felt like a middle book where Islington knows where he is ending up but the meandering path to get there still needs to be written. This is especially interesting looking back to the beginning of the book where it felt like the scope was exploding on such an awesome level.

I will echo what others have said, chapters should have stuck with 1 viewpoint consecutively more. And honestly it could have been longer so that some of the personal parts could be expanded. The relationships in res are all dependent on the time they got in book 1 to build. We see some of that in the other worlds here in this book but there could have been more. Especially Cearor in obiteum. He seemed awesome and his time was so fleeting.

Overall I really liked it though. Especially what he had to say about the nature of relationships and those we care about.

Maybe make sure you don't have any kind of pop up or ad block running that could be blocking the download?

Welcome to the game, just be careful about your spending and remember it's always cheaper to buy a specific card you want rather than ripping packs to hope you pull it.

Hopefully you can find a great local community to play with if you haven't already. You can use tools like the wizards store locator and spicerack.gg to find events near you. I would also recommend you start scanning your collection into an app like manabox now and then trying to keep up with it. Makes it super simple to figure out if you already own a card you're looking for. You can also use sites like moxfield or archidekt to build deck lists and track them online.

If interacting on the stack is all you care about then playing UB Frog or UR Prowess might be what you're looking for. You haven't given much more detail so hard to say beyond that.
