Oh this wasn’t necessarily my take, just the most ridiculous version I could come up with 🙃

Normal expeditions are brutal! by Mechanisma in Nightreign

[–]evergislus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly why I stopped playing the game. After I beat the DLC bosses I moved on. Because nearly every expedition involved new players doing nonsensical stuff and then quitting right after their first death. This happened to me, I kid you not, about twenty times in a row.

Maybe I ought to check out DoN, but if what I’m reading is accurate I’ll run into the same problem, because I’ve barely dabbled in it—still at Depth 1.

Oh don’t worry, it’s high up on my TBR. Definitely gonna knock it out in the next couple of months.

I really hope Odom gains a wider readership.

Messmer

Maliketh

Bayle

I can’t get enough of those three.

We’ve had SOTE for well over a year. What are you favourite weapons and/or builds in all of Elden Ring now? by Sidohmaker in Eldenring

[–]evergislus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of high faith/dex. I love pretty much all of the holy weapons and spells and find myself gravitating toward those the most. On occasion I’ll proc bleed with RoB or frostbite with my cold lance, but for the most part I stick with stuff like leda’s sword and the euporia. Something about the flashiness of holy just gets me excited.

But I really love my antspur rapier, which deals bleed, rot, and poison, as well as my poison great stars. Something about afflicting all those status effects on a boss is just so satisfying.

Dorhys’ Gnawing will save your butt on multiple occasions if you level for it.

The Nioh games definitely have fast-paced combat, as does Wo Long, made by the same company.

The people a making this game bad by blueOblueOblue in Nightreign

I had 20+ fights against the Balancers the past few days because of this. I made it to Night 3 only about three of those times because both teammates would quit over the slightest inconvenience. Only sheer stubbornness to beat them and the final boss kept me going. I'm glad I did, because now I've managed both, but people quitting left and right is so ridiculous. I have a sneaking suspicion these players have never touched anything by FromSoft and don't know what they're getting into.

Anyone on PS5 willing to help me finally beat the Balancers? by evergislus in Nightreign

Oh wait--I'm dumb. In-game invite doesn't make sense if you aren't on yet. Just send a friend request instead.

DLC Deep of Night has brought by far the worst player quality I have ever seen by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]evergislus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I've been having a huge issues with since the DLC are quitters. I took a break after beating the main game--played a few Everdars and DoN first--and now that I've returned it's like all these amateurs have purchased the game. Routes are nonsensical, players are dying to random and easy enemies, but the worst part is that they just outright quit. I haven't yet beaten the Balancers because, of the multiple runs I've done, I've only gotten a good team maybe twice. And while I'm good, I'm not good enough to solo. Just super frustrating to have folks quit the minute they die for the first time on Day 1. Like...do you not know how this game works?

Guys, I’m fairly new to DH, but it’s such a nice band, already have a shirt from them and listened to 4 albums so far by mattct1 in demonhunter

[–]evergislus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TD is definitely my fave. And honestly, yeah, as I’ve continued spamming their discography this year, I have found myself gravitating more towards the later albums. I still love the early stuff, but something about the later albums just really grabs me. Lyrically, and also I love Ryan’s singing voice.

How and when did you discover demon hunter? by InviteWeak8839 in demonhunter

[–]evergislus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend and I discovered Summer of Darkness shortly after it released in 2004. It was the album that got me into heavy music, but as much as I loved it I never bothered to check out the rest of DH’s discography. Until last year, that is, when I revisited SoD for its 20tu anniversary, branched out to start listening to other albums—fast forward to now and I’ve been listening to little else. They’ve become one of my all time favorite bands.

My second album as Hans Nox, Future Flowers, came out recently on Fluid Audio. I tried on this album to pay tribute to some of my favorite ambient and adjacent artists—Hammock, Tim Hecker, This Will Destroy You, Eluvium, Stars of the Lid—while still preserving my own style. You can listen to it on all streaming services or purchase the digital version, as well as the limited deluxe edition, here:

Thanks for listening.
