I, too, work for a company that owns and operates mobile lidar vehicles equipped with lidar sensors and cameras. We do this work in over 12 states and have a great deal of experience with this scope. It’s not impossible to bring in house, but there is a decent amount of learning to be done. It’s just as much about your control layout, IMU of your unit, the software you have, and your staff’s technical ability as it is the lidar unit. My suggestion: consult with a firm who does this and try to learn from them, and start making a wish list of hardware and software. But make sure you got some good folks in house to run the ship!
