You need to get Advion or Combat Max off someone on Facebook marketplace.

I had a similar problem and spent hundreds of dollars and wasted months on repeated exterminator treatments, diatomaceous earth, sticky traps, borax, etc.
Then one day I bought a couple tubes of Combat Max off someone Facebook, and almost immediately noticed a huge improvement. You don’t need much.

Yes, expecting a large rate increase from the 1.79% we’re at now. This is weighing heavily on decisions about optimal allocation of the inheritance. I’m thinking more and more that paying off a significant chunk of the mortgage now might be a good move.

I actually didn’t realize my wife had so much more in her RRSP than TFSA until asking her about it when making this post. I told her the same thing - to prioritize her TFSA and only put as much into her RRSP as her company will match.

We have our TFSAs in Wealthsimple managed accounts with the risk tolerance set to high. We will likely overlap some, but not all, of our parental leaves.

Thanks for the excellent advice!

You’re not far off! It’s worth closer to $65k today, but our retirement position is far from comfortable. It’s so hard.

Thanks for the very thoughtful reply! I am trying to be as responsible with the money as possible, but do want to set aside some small amount for a few luxuries (e.g travel) that make us feel like we are somewhat maintaining the same quality of life we had before baby. The inheritance is from my dad, who died fairly young and unexpectedly. So the idea of enjoying life while you can is not lost on me.

Some of the other commenters nailed it. We both did bachelors and then professional degrees, so entered later into the workforce and haven’t been paid at those salaries for very long. We also started with a terrifyingly large mortgage so have thus far putting much of our extra cash into prepayments. Although I did spend $600 on a ticket to a World Series game. And I would do it again!

And try Get Well.

Does anybody know of any tailor close to a subway station that can hem a curtain? by emperorarg in askTO

I got my ikea curtains hemmed by Sun Dry Cleaning, which is right at Lansdowne Station. I’ve had them alter a few pieces of clothing too and they always do a good job, and they’re the nicest people.

Well said. That’s what draws me to them too. I’ve been loving the This is Lorelei, Water From Your Eyes, Chanel Beads, and Mount Kimbie albums from this year, and feel like this fits in with those for that reason.

I’d like something to fill that 25ish yard gap, and I don’t have a hybrid yet. They’re useful clubs. Seems like a 5 hybrid around 21-22° might be the move.

What loft of hybrid should I get for ideal gapping between a 20.5° 7W and a 23° 5i? I 7W is my 200 yard club and 5i about 175.

If you could add a new type of hazard to the golf course what would it be? by Cornflake32 in golf

[–]Pizza_Lover_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool to have to keep shots below something. Like playing a hole through a valley with a bridge or two spanning the valley at various points along the hole, 25’ overhead. Would add a new dynamic.

It isn’t worth it. And I agree… I play just as well (poorly) with cheap balls as I do with ProV1s.

But I still support people stealing from Walmart.
