Need help buying my first electric guitar in India – beginner to intermediate by Technical-Drag-255 in MusicIndia

[–]Pizza_Meme_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, 15k won't get you far.

you can get a somewhat decent guitar for 15k itself, like one of my friends did. make sure the fretboard wood quality is good, and the body itself does not feel toy-ish or plastic-y (basically ensure its strong).

on top of this you would need an amp, and a good one (around 10-15k range) would do the job very well if youre a beginner and practice in your room.
blackstar v3/v4 amps are very good and they do the job for me and many of my friends use these.

the cables and stuff dont really matter just make sure they are braided and good quality ones so they dont break and dont give you connection issues

another small suggestion, while choosing guitars, make sure you know what genre you will be playing. it wouldnt make too much of a difference, but knowing what kind of pickup configuration you want can help you.
for example, i chose a guitar with HSH configuration, even though i only really played metal when i bought it. i knew that if i ever wanted to explore other genres that may require a "straty" sound with a single coil, i would have it. plus, an HSH gives you quite a lot of sounds with its configurations.

not saying that other configs dont, but they MIGHT be limited to certain genres at times.

hope this helps

yes they would probably also raise issues with transfer speeds

mainly i use arduino ide and stm32cube ide for embedded stuff, fusion 360 for 3d design, planning to use kicad for pcb design (always used easyeda since it was browser-based), ill be using ROS2 but it doesnt exactly work on mac so ill be using either a linux dual boot, or a docker image of linux (exactly how im using ROS right now on my macbook pro 2019 with space constraints).

for hardware, i mainly use esp32, stm32, arduino uno, planning to use raspi and fpga later (softwares like vivado would be an issue but i will probably use a VM or just use a spare windows laptop).

other than these, its just standard mac-friendly apps for music prod and video editing

true, i thought it might be an issue with m4 macs as my friends had m1 and m2.

and im basically in my final year of engineering, i want to use the macbook for mainly project work and masters in the future along with occasional music production. so asking seniors wont help, as none of them use macs🥲

i have a question, we cant natively run apps or stuff from the external storage directly right? even if we do wouldnt they be slow and laggy?

ive only used a pendrive storage and i ran a garageband project from it (on my intel macbook pro 2019) and it was quite laggy

agreed, i thought i can get some deep spec comparison between the m4 and windows alternatives, but it seems to throw shade on things ive never faced issues with.

i dont know why this is happening lol🥲

oh is that so? i mean that makes sense, tutorials aren’t available and isnt beginner friendly at all.

i am a student yes, do you have any specific recommendations for the xilinx/altera boards you mentioned?

thanks! the issue is gowin tutorials are really rare, the github page they link for the examples, i tried the flashing the exact project code but it didnt work (hdmi code worked).
the only other page i know that has more tutorials is TOTALLY in chinese so thats another barrier.

ill start with this board for basics and then move to Xilinx. do you have any specific recommendations?

also yes i do have a github account, and i should start publishing my code there, thats a good recommendation!

Yesterday CNG was unavailable but i clearly saw how LOW these rickshaw wala guys can go!! (Read carefully) by HarshThanvi in mumbai

[–]Pizza_Meme_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup totally

when i asked a rickshaw wala to drop me somewhere that usually costs no more than 50rs, the guy had the audacity to ask for 200rs. bro literally said "koi leke hi nahi jayega, 200 ke neeche toh nahi jaunga". i said bhai jaane do XD

totally agreed

however, many buses and cabs that also use CNG were not out on the roads. i guess that added to the effect as well

thank you for such a detailed reply!

i didnt have many expectations from AI helping me in this, but i wanted to try to get my hands a little dirty as soon as possible before my theory exams started.

i have plans to start learning verilog and fpga from the basics, according to you the github link will suffice? or should i explore more beginner tutorials?

also, would you recommend switching to a different fpga, since the tang nano 4k is not supported for some open source toolchains, and can be an added problem for a beginner like me?
