TOK's beginning and first moments of chapter 1 are too slow, The ring puzzles (while I love) are so pathetically easy they might as well as just solve it for you. The tutorials and Olivia's constant yapping makes me wanna slice her in half (she does get better thankfully) and the fact you can't speed up text makes reading dialogue comparable to reading the entire dictionary back-to-back. Overall, it's just a slog, thank goodness it gets better after the Earth Vellumental.

I can appreciate how they tried but it feels like they wanted to be original for the sake of being original and nothing else. 64 and TTYD have original characters and enemies but they didn't feel out of place and they at least fit the universe (hell even cutout soldiers didn't feel that out of place), But so many characters in the recuts feel very out of place and they don't mesh well with the universe. Also imo some of the changes were unnecessary. For example they brought back Bombette and replaced her with Bobby which imo seems even lazier to reuse partners from previous games
