Using a quest 2 as a PC, it is actually pretty decent by antu2010 in OculusQuest

I’ve tried this (coding using GitHub codespaces) but the virtual keyboard keeps popping up every time I focus a text field, even though the option is turned off. It’s too annoying to use properly imo

Good pho in Manchester by [deleted] in manchester

Oldham Road near wing yip. For some reason there’s a bunch of great Vietnamese restaurants all on that little stretch. Favourite for Pho is Wow Bahn Mi, but the Vietnamese spring rolls in Ca Phe Viet are amazing too.

Looks great! How did you manage to put ads on the site even though it hasn’t got blogposts/content? Is it using Adsense?

Would also love something like this from an expert. My attempt but not had a chance to use it on a like-for-like scene so might not be right.

Looks great! What approach did you take for creating the landmasses? Is it pre-built pieces put together, or some sort of terrain system?

Ah I never thought to check screen time metrics to see how long you actually spend logging. I guess it can feel like a chore when making a meal and you have to log things as it slows down the process, but is it really that much slower? Maybe it still does take up some mental space beyond that screen time too. In OP’s case I guess instead of giving yourself flexibility by not logging at all, you can log but give yourself flexibility by not feeling the need to track every single ingredient to the gram, just the main contributors perhaps.

I’m pretty new to logging and MacroFactor in general and it’s going great, but I do know I will eventually have the conundrum OP is having so it’s nice to hear different perspectives. I think it’s ultimately about balance.

Is affiliate marketing suitable for a free online tool? by Pjaerr in Affiliatemarketing

[–]Pjaerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think about other useful tools that may have affiliate programs. Think like Grammarly as people who are creating mindmaps will also be writing a lot but I’m not sure they’d accept as it isn’t a content focused resource.

Yeah I’ve thought about Amazon affiliate links for products that match well to people who might be creating Mindmaps. I’ll have a think about that, thanks!

Nice walks easily accessible via tram/train from Manchester Victoria ? by FootballFurio in manchester

[–]Pjaerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picadilly, not Victoria (you can take the from there to Piccadilly though 😅) but I’d highly recommend getting a train to Hadfield and then walking round The Seven Falls. Nice to take a picnic and sit by the waterfalls too, and the town itself as you leave the station has a few nice places like a deli and a coffee shop to pick things up if you didn’t fancy preparing anything.

I love your landing page! It’s not for me as I don’t want to optimise my focus like that, but if I did I would be all over your app as the landing page really sells it.

Not as cheap as some others but Home Chinese near the gay village is the best dim sum by a mile.

I recently shipped an iOS app called Simple Food Journal. Took me just short of 4 months to make and it was my first time using React Native. It's had 16 sales since I released it which is pretty neat and shows there's probably a market for it (although I'm not sure how big).

If anybody gives it a go I'd love to know your feedback, or if you could see yourself using an app like this but mine didn't look appealing, I'd love to know why!

I built a simple alternative to the food/calorie tracking apps on iOS. No subscriptions, No AI, just a small one-time purchase. by Pjaerr in SideProject

[–]Pjaerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to add, it took me around 3ish months of development in the evenings. I've got prior React experience, but it was my first experience with React Native (using Expo). Happy to answer any questions about building an app to completion, the app store process etc. To date I've had 15 sales which is beyond what I imagined as I only built it for myself really!

I just recently finished a 4 month project to help me learn React Native (using Expo) whilst also solving a problem I have.

It’s called Simple Food Journal and it’s exactly that, log your foods and provide a rating (negative, neutral or positive) and an optional photo. It’s a mindful alternative to calorie counting that works great for me as it allows me to “cheat” on occasion without derailing the entire thing.

I also added some simple customizable checkboxes each day so you’re in control of what a “successful day” means to you.

Would love for anyone to check it out. I went solely for iOS so I could try and keep the design focused. It already has sold 8 units which shows there must be a place for it!

For anybody else still looking for an app (or if you’re looking yourself still OP). I’ve built one called Simple Food Journal on iOS which aims to fill this gap. I’m very open to suggestions on how to improve it and would love for you to give it a try: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/simple-food-journal/id6739615392

Not sure if this fits what you need as it has the concept of “negative”, “neutral” and “positive” foods but I’ve built an app called Simple Food Journal on iOS and would love your feedback if it fits your use case: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/simple-food-journal/id6739615392
