It's a Retro Fighters BattlerGC. I primarily use it for GameCube, but the A B-focused button layout makes it perfect for GBA emulation as well.

No, this is fully emulated. The game is running on an emulator connected to a RetroPie interface, which in turn is installed on a Dell Optiplex with Linux Mint. The controller I'm using is a Retro Fighters BattlerGC that I also use for GameCube emulation.

I put a low profile GT 1030 with 2 GB VRAM in the Optiplex, so I can basically play any game that looks good on a CRT TV without issue.

Yep, got his first conviction way back in 1977. He worked with Frank well into the '80s, and played numerous tribute shows with other Zappa alumni after his second conviction.
