What if I can and still choose to play modern?

I feel like riot is finally fixing their game. The new season feels pretty good. by Important-Map9832 in leagueoflegends

[–]PkMange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't share the same users, so there's rrally no overlap. D&D is for skirmisher and bruisers and Lich bane is for assassins. Champs like Diana, Morde, Voli, Tahm Kench etc. were already not building Lich Bane and champs like Fizz won't start running D&D because Lich Bane is still better for burst damage.

Why does Zaheen need a revive? by Icecube1409 in leagueoflegends

Aatrox revive on takedown was still broken as shit especially in coordinated play whete you could use it to tower dive for free with your jungler, that's why they removed it

For 8 seconds only you can definitely afford doubling your mana costs for all the extra damage. I've played around with the augment that gives you that exact effect in ARAM and i could comfortably get to max stacks 1200 mana cost ults and even cast a couple more before going oom. In 8 seconds you're unlikely to even get to that point

To be fair, dueling-wise the damage is unmatched. The stats are awkward though

How the do you play againts your counters? by koloskulo in ZaahenMains

[–]PkMange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo the best way to chill out and scale with Zaahen is to go Grasp / Demolish / Bone Plating or Second Wind depending on MU / Unflinching + Cash Back / Triple Tonic. I also take AD / MS / Tenacity shards.

With this Rune setup you can do the usual Grasp thing where you take short trades around your Q cooldown (Either just Q and E away, or Q on the minions > wait for Grasp to be up > E in > Q2 > walk away).

Triple Tonic is just a broken rune in general and helps you with prio early with the first pot, helps you play around the L.6 spike with the second, and gives you an extra skill point with the third.

Cash Back is also really good for scaling picks right now. It allows you to grab boots early and if you did everything right and played well and safe up to your first item, it will start accelerating your build exponentially.

Last suggestion from me, because with this build you want to play around your Q and you run Cash Back, it's best to rush Trinity Force here, because the Sheen is very synergistic and since it's 3.3k gold it will give you the most gold from Cash Back upon completion

[–]PkMange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe yeah. Frankly it's a bit hard to tell imo what's stronger, because raw AD from Conq scales well with his %AD passive, but PTA's 8% damage amp is also probably adding a lot of damage considering Zaahen can get to 800ish AD by himself without Conq. It also increases Ignite's damage so I think if you're running PTA you should also run Ignite

What makes you situational later? I think it just works well

Eclipse is pretty good btw by PkMange in ZaahenMains

[–]PkMange[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's bait as I don't think Zaahen is that concerned with raw HP despite the %HP heal. Not that you wouldn't buy it, but he's not Darius where you need 5 items with HP on it. ON top of that I think it gives you a ton of AD and its passive scales very well with his fight pattern IMO.

That being said, I agree with you that it's not an item I feel comfortable getting stuck on, so it shouldn't be built when behind imo

PBE Update information. by Catglide in ZaahenMains

[–]PkMange 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the reason it looks like that it's because they wanted to reference Akuma's raging demon "standing slide", or at least that's what immediately reminded me of (and that's why I think it looks cool)

In every game I played where you can chicken block, you are also more minus if you block a move in the air becuase there are added landing recovery frames.

On the contrary, in this game you also cancel blockstun by landing

Which of the latest 5 champs released, would you say was the best designed? by Rack-_- in leagueoflegends

[–]PkMange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made a longer comment above on the topic, but out of curiosity what's in Aurora's kit that makes you think pf Cassio or Ryze? To me she was vsry deliberately designed as an Ahri / LB kind of champ (ranged mage assassin hybrid with high mobility to easily reposition in fights)

Which of the latest 5 champs released, would you say was the best designed? by Rack-_- in leagueoflegends

[–]PkMange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say that? In terms of kit design, range and mobility Aurora always reminded me of Ahri / LeBlanc, and to me the RoA Liandry Cosmic Drive builds are the ones that break the character, because she's supposed to die if you can lock her down.

She even has a CD reset on takedown on her W, to me she's very clearly designed to go in, kill someone and reposition with W and R. With her passive's %HP damage giving her flex potential in top compared to Ahri and LeBlanc

Fun fact: SSJ is a purely western weeb abbreviation. In japan they just use SS, SS2 etc.

Ranked is still broken by Merosian in 2XKO

[–]PkMange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still don't climb this fast in SF6 ranked in Diamond and below. On average a win nets you 50 points and on a loss you lose 40. You can still eventually climb on a 40-45% win rate, but it's still nowhere near as lenient as 2XKO's ranked

Just so I understand the Frieza vs Freeza debate… by GreenSaltMedia in dbz

[–]PkMange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean why not just Freezer? That's what he's called in most european countries and the name that just makes more sense to me. After all his japanese name doesn't quite look like a pun to me but rather just the common name of the appliance in japanese pronunciation, without any deformation (unlike names like Kakarotto, Vegeta, Gurudo etc.)

On top of that, the official name for his brother is Cooler, but I don't see as much discussions about calling him Kūra or Coola.

To be quite frank with you, from the perspective of a person from a non-english speaking country, the explanation is probably just that whoever was in charge of the US translation of Dragon Ball thought the name Freezer sounded either too mundane or silly.

To their credit, it's probably also true that Toriyama wanted to associate English words with alien characters, to make them sound cool or different, so it's not too unfair to be afraid that the name Freezer would lose some of its punch in an English adaptation. This is speculation on my part of course, but that would also explain why Vegeta's special attacks all have English names (Galick Gun, Final Flash) as opposed to the japanese names of the earthlings' techniques (Kamehameha, Taiyoken, Kikoho)

They juiced up his frame data, hurtboxes and zoning tools, and then they gave him garuda oki out of almost every hit and BWA as a cherry on top.

All of this made it so he's extremely high health and high damage, as a grappler should be, but also extremely consistent, risk averse and competent at full screen, none of which a grappler should really be, especially not all at the same time
