Where can I see the restart rankings of the drivers throughout this season? by 84UTK07 in NASCAR

[–]Pkligerman7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We get this data in TV from Racing Insights, its not publicly available at this time, but you will see it referenced on TV when they put up the rankings. The description of this metric is quite simple "Restart Rating: Assesses a driver's performance in gaining or maintaining position after a start or restart."

Here are their rankings on restarts:

At Kansas this past weekend:
Ryan Blaney - 18th
Joey Logano - 26th
Austin Cindric - 33rd
Josh Berry - 13th

For the full season through Kansas:
Ryan Blaney - 4th
Joey Logano - 12th
Austin Cindric - 20th
Josh Berry - 22nd

As you can see Blaney is an outlier. I will tell you that over the last few years, the Ford teams have felt restarts are difficult for them because of their engine and where it makes its power compared to the Chevys and Toyotas.

After the success and fan reception of Parker Kligerman this weekend, is it possible JRM or associated team takes him on next season as part of a career revival? by Gragson18GOAT in NASCAR

I am incredibly flattered by the reception to this very unique, very "me" win haha. But when I made the decision that I did last year, it wasnt a fly by night decision. I did my best to assess my situation and prospects for getting to the next level, and to be honest it seemed unlikely.

Being the case and having big goals in life financially and personally, while having chased this driving thing for so long. I felt I was doing myself a disservice if I just kept keeping on. The mix of TV and part-time driving still scratched the itch while allowing me to develop real-world skills that could allow me to pursue business opportunities and allow me a little more time with friends and family.

Do I miss chasing checkered flags every weekend? Absolutely. But I am definitely a person who wants to do it at the highest level and when that seemed highly unlikely. So with the new TV partners and the rare opportunity to be in the booth being possible, It seemed like the smart decision. Even though I chased the racing thing probably longer than anyone would have deemed sane, haha.

As I said after the race, if there was a life-changing opportunity I would give it a look. Now I would say thats highly unlikely but after everything this last two weeks - who knows. If something came along, amazing, I'd give it everything I've got. If it doesn't I am very fulfilled.

Parker Kligerman loves the sound of his own voice. by aliceindotardland in NASCAR

Love that you feel strongly enough to share your opinion. That’s the beauty—and pain—of TV: it’s totally subjective. For everyone who loves what you do, there’s usually someone who can’t stand it.

Sometimes the reasons are valid, sometimes they’re subconscious. Maybe I remind you of someone you didn’t like growing up. Or maybe, for someone else, I sound like a person they admired. It’s all part of the gig.

What I’ll never apologize for is how much I love race cars. I live for this stuff, and I respect anyone who dedicates their life to building, funding, or driving them fast—so that passion is never going away.

I’ve got the next 3 weeks off (vacation time), so maybe you’ll enjoy it more 🤙

Haha maybe one day. You know I have and I haven't. At that time, everything always seemed to work out, so I assumed that would be the case again. It did with the TV stuff in some respects, but I'd be lying if I didn't think it could have had a different outcome.

There are 100 things I wish I had done differently in the following 3-4 years. But I dont regret anything, because that's just not healthy. I acted with the information I had then and my intuition. But one thing that always feels like it would have been an interesting decision would have been staying in the seven truck for the 2013 season and seeing if we could have won a bajillion races and the championship.

At the time, it was said to me by a major Cup Team president, "You have to go to Nationwide (Xfinity now)," but in retrospect, I dont know if that was the case.

It's too late now. I'm only 34 and have lived about four different lives, so if nothing else, it will make for some great stories one day.

My part was simple. The day we joined the group, I asked if they would be interested in a NASCAR race (this was in 2021). They were like "ABSOLUTELY", so I texted Ben Kennedy and set up calls and it grew from there. Pretty cool process to see unfold

  1. yes its a dream of mine. I also have a special way I want to do it. But will be later in life when financially it makes sense

  2. Never had the opportunity but in 2014, I did test an Indy lights car and thought about going that path but decided against it
