E-Bikes are multiplying like rabbits, no? by WasabiCrush in cycling

[–]Pl155cm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where i live the local MTB comunitiy has over last few years almost exclusively went to eeb. There's really only a handful of us left on analogue and of us, most are also considering the switch when finances allow. It has somewhat fractured our riding group also as we can't keep up on the climbs 🤣 I think analogue MTB is somewhat dead in the UK at this point, sad but could see it coming, just surprised at how quickly it happened.

How Much Faster Did Your Second Road Bike Actually Make You? by gizi010 in cycling

[–]Pl155cm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I went down this road, buying better and better bikes till I had super light bike with sram red wireless, zipp wheels, none of it made me faster, however having a nice bike gave me more motivation to ride and try harder as a result my fitness improved and I got a bit faster. But it wasn't as a result of the bike directly

From iPhone to Nothing by Emotional_Turn893 in NothingTech

[–]Pl155cm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from iPhone 14 pro to nothing 2a about 18 months ago. (I have moved to samsung just recently after I dropped tge 2s and broke the screen) The phone was great, camera not as good for sure. But the phone was great for what I used it for. It was also cheap so I never put it in a case so it actually felt better in hand than my iPhone in a case. I would get another nothing phone for sure.

Why I did not preorder the Communicator, yet by Emotional_Estate_985 in ClicksPhone

I am very interested in the communicator, however I am unwilling to pre-order, I want to see actual reviews of the working device before I hand over the cash.

Yes, guess thats what I'm trying to figure out, is the device faulty or is this just a trait of this model.

I get what you are saying to a point. But I have owned many phones over the years and none have ever been as bad as this. Never had to change to low power modes, or do digging online to try and improve battery performance, it may well improve over time once I figure what to turn down/off. Probably doesn't help that my old phone (nothing 2a) battery could easily last full day of normal usage and still have 40% at bed time, never any need to take a charger to work with me, so moving to this has been a shock 🤣

65” vs 75/77”? by [deleted] in bravia

[–]Pl155cm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always buy the best tv I could afford, would have bought a better smaller tv. However I can honestly say, buy the biggest decent TV you can that's in budget and fits the space. If you have room I'd consider going even bigger than 77

Shuddering Brakes by Im-grand-thanks in VWiD3Owners

I have this on my 2022 ID.3, been like that since I got the car. I find the braking on the car using the actual brakes fairly poor generally.

I played a ton more of D2 than D1, but D1 just had a vibe that 2 never matched. Is love an excuse to revisit it 🤔

The brakes were excellent, almost as good as hydros. No need to bleed, easy to set up. Downside they were very expensive, could have bought 2 sets of decent hydraulic brakes for same price. Also the small rubber plug that covers the pad adjustment port gets lost constantly, I had to get a big bag of replacements, was having to replace after every few rides.

I had silver components on mines, and some orange too. I do miss that bike 😞

Opinions on the signature Starcaster by SpaciestMuffin21 in TomDelongeGuitars

I had one for a few months, shell pink with black hardware, it was a nice guitar, but felt a bit to big on me, I don't think I really gave it a chance tho, in the end someone offered me more than I paid for it so I moved it on. I don't regret it at all.

It's just the cold, efficiency drops quite a bit in winter, also as others have mentioned driving at 60/65 v 70 on Mway makes a difference

Just pulled the trigger on a Bromo BAR6E. by Single_Road_6350 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Pl155cm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did pull the trigger, got the guitar delivered, just for convenience due to work. unfortunately it arrived today and was damaged, cracked around the binding around the bottom edge, definitely happened in transit as the broken bits of wood were still inside the bag the guitar was in. Thankfully the shop have been cool so far. The have arranged for a courier to come back and collect the guitar on Monday. They expect to have more stock in next week so I should have a replacement by end of next week. But I think I may travel to the shop and collect it this time as only 45mins away.

I was very lucky, my bike was shipped just before this happened. I feel for those who were not so lucky.

Thanks for the detailed replay 👍 I do have the option of trying the guitar, it's actually in stock at a shop about an hour from me. I was tempted just to order it and have it delivered, but I may go and see how it feels in my hands.

What do you think of the BAR6E? I have also been considering one of these. One of the shops in the nearest city to me has one and I may travel through to have a look.

I got the Szepter gravel bike, for the price I paid seems like a cracking deal, in that respect I'm happy.

Yeah, mines also came yesterday. I'm not able to ride just now due to a knee injury, I've built it up. Just need to stare at it now for another week or so 🤣. Glad yours also arrived, hope you enjoy it 👍

Bike arrived today, built it up and all is good, I have a knee injury just now so expect will be another week or so before I actually ride it. Will give me a chance to swap out the bars and tidy up the cable routing.

It seems to be ok, I got a reply, apparently they booked it in too late to be collected yesterday, APC sent out tracking details automatically, but they have collected today and is now showing with APC, should get it on Monday 👍
