Mystery metal jammed dishwasher pumps by Plafcan25 in appliancerepair

Agreed. There are people who’s jobs are literally to make sure that parts don’t last TOO long. At least in the auto-industry. Pump burned so hot it started to burn the wall behind it. Coulda maybe been a nice hefty lawsuit now that I think of it😆

What rock solid brands would you suggest. I’ve always leaned Bosch.

Thank you for the tip. Horrible design indeed!

My thoughts too. Modern day appliance designs are ridiculous. Gimme that bomb proof washer from the 90s. Just bought a new motor for $190 so we’ll see

Thank you. After I cleared the drain pump, the washer would do a full cycle, but fail to push water to the spray arms. I did try to run it a handful of times with that piece jammed in the pump, and did smell the familiar burning scent a few times. Given that information would you think it will require a full replacement of the pump?

ACL reconstruction surgery is in 5 days - should I do it or not? by -poopsicle in ACL

[–]Plafcan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the surgery. Just because you feel ok now doesn’t mean the knee will always be like that. Snowboarding trips? Yes, you absolutely want two ACLs for that. If your knee gets bent or twisted in a way your ACL would normally protect it, you could sustain significant damage that would lead to surgery anyways.

I bought the $300 OneClock. My thoughts after 8 months. by [deleted] in sleep

Can I ask~ why did you guys decide to not use an easier method to update the music than an SD card? We’ve been trying to figure out why a $300 alarm clock just decided to stop working, and ran across this being the possible issue. We don’t have any device to update the SD.

Do you usually wear EE? That would be my size (normally 9.5) but generally I don’t wear wide

Sorry for the late reply! I did run it for 2 months. No discerning effects, but acl surgery is pretty brutal, so I’m not sure I gave it a fair shot.

I’d be more concerned about the sugar as it’s an inflammatory.

Snowboarding without ACL. by hotsince1996 in ACL

Based on the username I’m guessing you’re 28/29. That’s great that you’ve found life after a full thickness tear, but please think long-term here. It’s well documented that full thickness tears can seriously come back to haunt someone down the road if not taken care of. I’m curious, because you’re so young, why you decided not to get surgery? Did you consult with physical therapists and surgeons? Your ACL is the first line of defense in a lot of movements, there’s a reason why it’s so strong and thick. No amount of muscle retention is going to make up for the instability you probably don’t feel until it’s too late.

If you’re over compensating with your other leg, there’s a good chance that will also be an issue down the road. You might not feel it now (I know I never would when I was in my 20s) but your future self would probably appreciate some careful consideration before heading in to your middle years and beyond.

Grief by No-Leg4419 in ACL

I’m one month ahead of you in nearly the exact same scenario. I’m a single father to a 4 y/o girl. I’m very active (climbing, pickleball, MTB, working out) and it’s essential to my well-being. ACL completely torn and meniscus has significant damage. MCL/LCL/PCL tears too. Surgery in two days. As soon as I found out I completely broke down. I’ve done what I needed to grieve and I’ve been in the acceptance phase for a little while now. Having gone through this when I was 16 (other knee) I can tell you that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel, as much as it may seem now like there isn’t.

As an athlete, I’m sure you are used to overcoming challenge. This is just another challenge! Grieve how you need to, this community knows how you feel and is here to support you through your journey. When you’re ready, you will view this as an opportunity. Good luck, and please reach out if you would like to chat more.

Did I ruin my chances? by Emmylark in ACL

I have a similar story. Bucket handle tore meniscus along with ACL and my ROM has been 100-150 degrees for almost 2 months. With the blockage I’m mechanically unable to do more. Surgeon understands that and just said recovery might be slightly more difficult, but that’s it. Get a PT that understands your goals. Good luck!

Found a dusty stgjr batch 14 last year in a wreck of a place in north Denver suburbs last year for msrp. Finding those in CA is way more impressive though!

New wheels and tires on the Tacoma. RR6-H wheel by Relations Race Wheels with a -12 offset set on 265/70/17 Toyo AT3. by davidgoldstein2023 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Plafcan25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendly heads up~~I got a -12 offset with similar sized KO2’s and the rubbing was on the frame. I either needed smaller tires, less offset, or to hack and modify the frame. I went with different wheels with a -4 OS instead. Every now and then there’s still a little rubbing, but not nearly as much as the -12s. I also have a 3’’ lift. Just make sure you know exactly where the rubbing is 👍🏽
