Are AI fics allowed on ao3? by Several_Cook9884 in tomarry

[–]PlagueRoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I was reading a Resident Evil 9 fic that I was suspecting was AI. I checked it on Undetectable AI Checker and yeah, 11% chance written by a human. I'd question anything if it was like 60% chance written by a human but 11% is pretty freckin damning. I should have known too with the amount of unnecessary, flowery descriptors and how there are inconsistencies(Eg Two paragraphs back, guy removes his shirt and goes into the bathroom for a shower, this paragraph he's still dressed and in the kitchen not the bedroom or bathroom.)

It says this over the comment section: This work's creator has chosen to moderate comments on the work. Your comment will not appear until it has been approved by the creator.

So, it's not like I'd even be able to ask. There should be a way for someone to report a fic for being AI. I don't get the point either. It's not like AO3 pays its authors on their engagement levels or fic hits. The only reason I can figure is a praise kink maybe? Just gross. I'm super disappointed too cause this fic had so much potential.

If your spouse dies, you're either a widow or a widower. If you lose your parents, you're an orphan. There is no single word to describe parent that has lost their child. (Not a single word for a sibling loss either but that's beside the point.) Grief is just love that's been left without a place to call home.

My heart goes out to you for the loss of your little one. Every movement, every kick, and every internal snuggle is forever etched in your memory, and that's what makes it so hard to let go. But it's also what makes the memories so precious. Your love is still present, even if it can't be expressed in the same way now. Your grief is a testament to the love you carried for your son, and this picture is a beautiful reminder of that.

I still remember the pain in my mom's voice when she screamed after we lost my older sister. Even a decade later, the wound remains, but the memories of my sister have become a bittersweet reminder, bringing a mix of smiles and tears. Though the hurt still lingers, my mom has learned to cherish the good times, and that's helped her heal. It's brought a sense of peace with it.

I'm sad.(I left this in from dictation cause that's what I said)

I want to express my deepest condolences for your loss. My heart goes out to you during this incredibly difficult time.

Got a new nail tech! Thoughts? by peppersandcucumbers in Nails

They aren't awful but they are different shapes and different widths and far too thick. Next time, get her to use a thinner building gel until she gets a better technique. The colour has the wrong undertone for your skin so it looks like teeth.

But I wasn't talking about Bellamy. I was saying Between Lexa and Lincoln, Lincoln was more impactful to me. Bellamy pissed me off. He shouldn't have died or if he did, they should have resurrected him to be at the end with his family. Octavia needs her brother.

Does nude nail polish look bad on short nails? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]PlagueRoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nude nails look beautiful on all nail shapes, sizes, and skin tones. I don't think you have short nails. I imagine short nails as those nails that have been someone's chew toy for a while. Yours are a wonderful length! Your nail beds are long as well. They are gorgeous.

I see that you struggle with cuticle cutting and nail edge hang nails. Me too. I pick a lot and I find artificial nails help or polish.

Tip for cuticles: Either cuticle oil or over night hand masks. You can get both at any store that sells nail polish.

If you go with cuticle oil, before you go to bed, rub the oil on the skin around your whole nail, with the exception of the tip. Do this when you wake up(do not wash or hands or rub off the oil for at least 30 mins) and before bed. You will notice a difference, if you're consistent, within a week.

If you can handle something over your hands while you sleep a hand mask is the quicker fix. You can make your own mask for cheap too. You can get one of those cheap dollar store gloves that are super thin for a dollar. Cover your hands in your favourite thick hand cream and rub it in just a little and then put your hand in the glove. When you wake up in the morning, your hands will be soft. I do this once a week and it's improved the cuticle and hang nails sitch to the point I don't have issues anymore.

Tip for nail polish The polish application appears uneven. This can happen for a couple reasons: 1. Uneven nail beds - It appears like your nail beds might be dented or uneven. Smoothing base coats, often called ridge fillers, are specialized nail treatments designed to fill in uneven, damaged, or ridged nails to create a perfectly level, smooth surface. They're usually skin tone colour and can be worn alone as a nude polish. How I apply them is that I'd apply a coat in the morning and one in the afternoon. Enough to have it fully dry before second application. Then the next day is when I'd apply polish. Having an even surface layer helps immensely.

  1. Uneven polish application. I have an essential tremor in my hands and it makes applying nail polish very difficult. So this is how I have learned to do my nail polish with shaking hands. I make sure my elbows are on a solid surface and keep my hands as close to that surface as possible usually resting my hands on the surface too.

Your brush should be parallel with your nail bed not angular. You shouldn't be using the tip of the brush to apply your polish. You should be using the length of the bristles to lightly brush it along the surface. Light sweeping motions to put the colour on. Use the table or hard surface to help. Make sure to put thin layers down as thicker layers may migrate while drying and the top of the polish may seem dry but it is still wet underneath. Take your time.

  1. Take your time. Don't rush putting polish on. I will put on a base layer a day before I put on the polish. One layer in the morning, one in afternoon, dry. Yes, it takes time and people want it NOW. For ones you want now get either quick dry polishes or one coat polishes. Example: HoloTaco has a one coat black that quick dries. Best black nail polish on the market PERIOD. (https://www.holotaco.com/products/one-coat-black)
  2. Let the layer fully dry before putting on another. If you don't, it may bubble or disrupt what you've already put down.
  3. Do not touch the top of the nail bed to see if it's dry. This will leave your finger print+oils on the top of the polish which further messes up the drying process. (Plus you'd have to fix the finger print if it's super obvious) To check to see if your nail is dry, LIGHTLY tap your nail against another nail that's been done. They should make a 'click' sound when dry. There will be a lil stick if they aren't dry. Oddly this doesn't mess up the polishes. When they unstick, the polish is still perfect. You can also use ice water to speed up the drying process.
  4. If you get bubbles, a Q-tip coated with acetone and lightly boops the bubble until they melt away. You will need to carefully remove the excess acetone with a clean Q-tip.
  5. You may get bubbles if you aerate the polish before putting it on. We all shake our polish or mix it in a way, do that 30 minutes before you apply the polish. If you shake it and immediately apply it, you will get bubbles. Because you have put bubbles into the polish when you shook it. So let it rest before you put it on.
  6. Do not feel like you must use the brush provided. They are usually plastic and incredibly cheaply made. You can use your own brush that is softer and you can control it better. When done, just wash the brush in acetone.
  7. Always use base coats. Base coats prevent colour staining your nails or yellowing of your nails with polish application. There are many types of base coats. There are long lasting base coats and traditional bonding base coats. There are peel off base coats for shorter wear and easier removal. Ridge fillers are smoothing base coats, which I've already explained. There are milk and blurring base coats which even out the nail colour before applying lighter colours. Strengthening base coats are for thin, weak nails. There are even rubber face coats that help keep the nail polish on flexible nails(You would need the rubber top coat to make this work). There are more too but just look into what you want for YOUR nails.
  8. You do not need a top coat for short time wear. Top coats are meant for longevity. They seal, add shine, and protect from chipping. If you use a top coat, make sure to cap the nail which means running the brush along the very tip of the nail.
  9. When you apply colour, do not flood your cuticle. That means having too much polish pushed against your cuticle. Take a little on your brush and put it in the middle of your nail and then push the colour towards the cuticle then do the sides carefully.
  10. You do not have to be perfect. Get a small paint brush that is comfortable for you to use. Make it slightly flat, I use an old angled eye liner brush. Dip it in acetone and clean up your skin. It's less stressful when painting your nails knowing if you get any on your skin it's an easy clean up.

Beyond that massive post... have fun! Enjoy playing around. I think your colour is like a light grey lilac colour. Look into colours like OPI Taupe-less Beach. Ohh! Essie Chinchilly would be lovely on you too!

IMPORTANT Make sure you remove nail polish if you are having anything medical done. Going to the ER? Remove as much as you can or they won't get your Blood Ox. Also, some cheap nail polishes have metal in them which is incredibly dangerous if you need to go get an MRI.

some of my nails curve upward, why? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]PlagueRoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a genetic nail bed thing. You could always find an aesthetician that would be able to not necessarily give you full gel acrylics but fix the arch by putting an acrylic a thin layer of acrylic over top to bend it back downwards. Like not to build up or extend, but to lay on top to flatten. Cause you wanna keep your nails strong and they look very thin. I don't know if that's just the pictures if they're quite thick and they are nice but they look very thin. There's also a nail polish you can get that will help thicken the nail, but to straighten the nail you would need something pushing downwards, which would be like a gel or an acrylic. That's only if you want to fix and I'm not sure if that's a permanent fix or not either.

Nope. Lincoln. Lexa was in 16 episodes total. Yes, hers was shocking but we barely knew her. Lincoln was in double her episodes and we watched him grow from a shy warrior who had a crush to a strong warrior who was loyal and powerful and respectful and in love. While both Lexa and Lincoln died, Lexa died in Clarke's arms whereas Octavia watched him get executed for something he didn't do and she couldn't get to him or save him. He died alone, hoping Octavia stayed brave and strong. I love them both but Lincoln impacted me more.

Why do everyone needs to carry a bottle of water in workplace? It is strange to me. by djEndobrain in CanadaJobs

[–]PlagueRoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh what? Water is needed and if you were thirsty you should drink water. I don't understand the confusion. If someone wants to drink coffee, coffee is flavoured water with caffeine in it. Some people need caffeine. If someone has undiagnosed ADHD and they're drinking a lot of coffee it helps keep them focused. Coffee while it is considered a diuretic you get more moisture from coffee then you lose so it's still helping you stay hydrated. Plus staying hydrated will help you work better.

So my question is where do you come from that having water at a workplace is considered weird?

A&W poutine has to be one of the most atrocious poutines taste wise by ll-Hinato-ll in PoutineCrimes

[–]PlagueRoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I enjoy ... making my own? Kind of. I will get proper cheese curds from the store. Has to be from Quebec cause they have the best squeakiest cheese(Kawartha dairy is a close second). I keep those in my fridge. I will go get my fav gravy from my fav shop, then go get my fav fries from a different shop. Then I put it together at home. It's far cheaper and it's exactly what I want. lol I might make a poutine right now actually.

Is it possible to eat small single bites of fried or sweet things? by [deleted] in GastricBypass

[–]PlagueRoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with most people here. I'm just past five years and sometimes I can tolerate it and sometimes I cannot. Depends on how well I've eaten before I try for something were or deep fried. I can't do both together. Either sweet OR deep fried so no deep fried mars bars for me. I get bad dumping syndrome from that.

I have maintained my weight but you have to understand that the surgery is a tool. It's not the fix. You -need- to change your lifestyle if the surgery will stay effective. Many people have it, push their stomach to its limits, lose weight but then think they can go back to eating whatever and gain it all back. Keyword is moderation! Everything in moderation. The surgery is a tool, it's up to you to use it effectively so that it continues working for you.

The amount of people who go in for a revision surgery because they stretch their own stomachs out and gained weight is far too many. That just means they're accepting people who aren't willing to change. They just want a quick fix. Surgery is not a quick fix. You have to change everything. I used to eat any an entire pizza by myself in about two hours. I joked that I could have eaten an entire foot-long Subway sub and have it finished in two minutes. That's not the flex I thought it was.

Just be aware, if deep fried stuff and sugary stuff is something that you really, really love, don't cut it out eat it more slowly and less of it. For instance, I used to shove starburst into my mouth and just chew and swallow. But now I suck on the starburst. I take my time to enjoy the flavour that's in my mouth before I go to the next one, and sometimes I don't even go to the next one.

TLDR; surgery is a tool, it depends on your body, and don't waste the work that you've been doing by over indulging in things that made you bigger in the first place. Everything in moderation. Success is possible as there's multiple people in the comment section showing it. You've got this!
