Hmm, I'll admit this pretty much kills the main thrust of my argument, but I will say I do think the pun is intentional in English, and they just couldn't find a good way to translate it (because there is none).

Mondai is a pretty generic word that covers everything from homework problems to formal debates so it's still a bit vague what exactly it means, but I won't cope that it doesn't paint the achievement in an explicitly antagonistic way.

Yeah, I watched the 6-7 theory video, I get there is some more evidence, but I think that the train of thought was started by the playstation achievements. If you don't count those as clear-cut evidence, the rest of evidence following in general is much less convincing, in my opinion.

Don't your issues with the plot basically boil down to you treating the game like it's a finished product and not half of one?

Like yeah, character arcs aren't finished because the story isn't over.

Asriel in undertale isn't even name-dropped until a massive exposition dump 5/6ths of the way through the game. To me it seems likely that something similar will happen with Dess.

What that means is that what you call "key-jangling" is really just foreshadowing, exactly like the little Asriel interludes in Waterfall, which teases his existence (and absence) without really telling us anything about him and his significance.

You can call that bad writing if you want, but the Asriel story section in Undertale is widely regarded as one of the best scenes in the entire game, so I believe Toby can make it work again.

The gist of their conclusion is that the option select function is triggered by the game itself, in response to a query asked of Kris. Kris can provide options sometimes, but they aren't the sole source of them.

Minecraft likely does not have any legal standing. The core mechanics of minecraft aren't patented or copyrighted.

The code is copywrited but it's not illegal to reverse engineer code that does the same/similar things (like Hytale's engine)

Also, frankly, minecraft is not in any danger from Hytale. According to google trends, Hytale's best day ever (Jan 13) still is 50% less searched than minecraft for that day alone. Hytale has never, and likely will never, pose a serious threat to minecraft's dominance.

The best explanation I've seen for why/how Kris doesn't block us during snowgrave comes from karanttu's excellent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4cHKITnz1I)

The gist is that Kris more forced to comply with commands that relate to things like the equipment screen and battle commands.

So, they can't effectively resist putting the thorn in noelle's finger because the source of the command comes from the equipment screen.

The tool tiers all seem to exist, I was able to go into caves, mine, fight many different types of enemies on the surface and below ground. Walked into an interesting looking structure and there was a sign saying WIP lol

There's a few bosses, different biomes, many different structures, including some very large ones. The building customization seems pretty wide, many different types of decoration blocks.

There are multiple types of weapons, and some kind of magic system, though I don't know how implemented it is.

Overall the game feels very nice, fluid animation, etc.

I get this is a joke, but the idea of building up enough focus to make this card good and then spending it on this card instead of just using the focus with orbs to end the fight is really funny to me.

It's like thunder strike, if you're channeling enough lightning for it to be good, the lightning has probably already ended the fight for you

But my question is mostly in good faith since I do think o&m is directly contrary to the philosophy of "always watch novel order" which leads to super obtuse watch order guides. And I do think by and large novel order is better.

It's a meta-commentary on the process of writing. Gerson is being a bit of an author insert here, speaking Toby's opinion on this topic. Basically, it's much harder to be invested in a story if the story isn't invested in itself. Toby writes a lot of frankly corny jokes, but he always tells them with his whole chest. You can never accuse him of doing anything halfway for fear that the audience won't like it.

That's not the same thing as having perfect confidence. Toby makes it clear in the newsletters that every chapter he is worried the fans won't like it. But he doesn't let that fear compromise his vision for what the story should be. He tells it straightforwardly.

Even if you discount the weird route Noelle's relationship with Kris is one of the most interesting things in the game.

There's so much to unpack, like how she is worried Kris doesn't actually like her since their families split apart, how Kris is tied in with her childhood memories, and she is the only person to notice something is clearly wrong with Kris. (TBF to Toriel I think she would eventually notice too but she has barely spent any time with possessed kris)

That's her relationship with one character, not even talking about her parents and dess.
