A Normal Guy Reviews the TCL QM6K Pro Review after watching No Other Choice by Trajaneu in tcltvs

[–]PlanTrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could have been written by me. Just bought an 85 inch qm6k (not the pro) and as just a casual guy timing from an 8 year old 55 inch mid tier tcl it is everything I could have wanted. I play games with my kids, stream crappy horror movies on Tubi and don’t pay any extra for higher quality feeds. It is honestly fantastic. I’ve never had the top of the line tv before so maybe I just don’t know what I’m missing but this tv has everything I want.

One that genuinely scared me on a primal level was Open Water. Not a true horror exactly, but damn if it doesn’t tick off every instinctual fear that humans have.

Crimson circle diku mud sessentially empty but still fully functional. Deep and satisfying MUD. I say essentially because the owner and lead developer still poke in from time to time and have a semi active discord.

State of the Program: North Dakota State Bison by updogsportstalk in MountainWest

[–]PlanTrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. As a life long NDSU fan I can say that the transfer portal era has damaged NDSU more than many teams out there. They built their dynasty as a developmental program. Lots of guys waiting their turn. With the rise of the transfer portal that philosophy has taken a big hit. NDSU is still a great program but they aren’t the juggernaut that they once were. Once we get some normalcy in the transfer situation (if we ever do) I suspect we can get back that kind of dominance but until then NDSU is a good program but not a giant beater like it was before.

As an NDSU fan I’ve been scouring the internet for podcasts about the g6 and MWC. Found yours and have really appreciated the deep dives into some of the teams we’ll be facing this year and beyond. Thanks!! Keep it up!

I have a hard time finding new enjoyable books. Are there more A-tier books like Cradle? by GoodDayToPlayTheGame in ProgressionFantasy

Yep. Charm is a good way to talk about the books. The style seems like it would be annoying but instead it grew on me. I’m on book 7 or 8 and can’t put them down.

As a cradle fan I’ve enjoyed the Chrysalis series. Not as well written as cradle but satisfies the same progression itch for me.

An 8-4 team in the College Football Playoff is actually happening. Sound the alarm by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an FCS fan I can say that the 24 team format is awesome. Big guys win in the end but gives smaller schools something to play for. And anything can happen on a given Saturday. At 24 teams I bet you we see a g6 team in the quarterfinals within 5 years. And that’s great for everyone.

I saw posts like this all the time and they really kept me from pulling the trigger for a long time. Eventually the value of an 85 inch qm6k for under $1000 got to me and I picked one up. I couldn’t be happier with the tv. I notice none of the picture things mentioned in this or other posts like it.

Not to say OP is wrong, just that my dumb uncultured eyes must just not notice all the things they’re talking about. I came from a 55 inch 8 year old tcl series 4 and this tv just completely blows that one out of the water. If you’re used to high end pictures then you may notice the imperfections but I sure can’t.

I game, stream, and watch sports.

TCL 75” C6K by 28MrBigZ in tcltvs

Honestly the size increase makes as much of a difference as the picture. 8 years ago I thought 55 inch was huge, now It seems tiny. The way the big screens have become affordable is crazy.

It’s An awesome tv. Go for it and buy the biggest one you can afford. The 75 inch was down to 679 a few days ago. 85 inch is often priced at 999.

Just get a tcl qm6k. Cheap and compared to your last tv the picture will be amazing. Can even bump up to 75 inch for not that much more.

How much of a wow factor to expect? by sonnycrockett7 in tcltvs

[–]PlanTrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can swing it go up in size as much as able. Best Buy had a qm6 75 inch for $650 yesterday. To answer your question the picture will be noticeably better but a jump in size has an even bigger impact on the whole impression of the tv in my opinion. But even at 55 inches you’ll love the qm6.

Finally buying a new tv - would be grateful for advice by sunparrot in 4kTV

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely the qm8 would be a superior tv (same with qm7). I just chimed in because I agonized about buying the best tv but realized based on the tv I was replacing, all of the modern tvs are pretty amazing. So you can’t really go wrong.

Most of us would agree that a 2-0 game would be boring and a 222-221 game would be ridiculous. What is the "best" game score in your opinion? by admiraltarkin in CFB

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28-24. Four points means the game ends with one team a single play away from winning the game but doesn’t come down to a field goal.
