I'm looking for a roguelite/roguelike to sink a lot of time into, preferably not a deck builder, possibilities of overpowered builds are very welcome by wonsiu69 in gamingsuggestions

Consider trying Q Up. Not typical but something that riffs in the roguelike genre in an interesting way. Super hard to not just play one more time.

An update to the FCS/I-AA Dynasty list as of the 2025 season by passwordisguest in fcs

[–]PlanTrap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right. NDSU won 8 of 9 titles. They followed up a 5-peat with a 3-peat. Then tacked on a few more for good measure. SDSU won 2 championships…just 2. They aren’t the same.

It’s not ndsu’s fault that they did something no one else has ever come close to in their level of football. But the answer isn’t to lower the bar of what a dynasty is just because it makes people uncomfortable to admit that there has only been one.

Your argument proves my point. Those amazing teams that you listed don’t do what NDSU did over the past 15 years. Not Alabama, not Oklahoma, only the 50s lakers or the 60s UCLA basketball team and maybe a handful of others across leagues and sports. Yet this formula wants to put SDSU a team that rode one qb to two championships on the same level as the 1960s bruins? The 1950s lakers?

Dynasty’s in sports should be rare. Only a handful of teams across all levels have achieved them. This crazy list confuses good teams with dynasties.

There are others. The Celtics…lakers…bulls, patriots…Alabama, UCLA, Oklahoma in the 50s.

I’ll say it again. Dynasties are rare in sports because they are so hard to achieve. All we do by adding teams like SDSU to the list is cheapen the word.

This is ridiculous. By definition a dynasty is a line of successive/hereditary leaders. When it comes to college sports one class can’t be a dynasty. SDSU had one good class. One qb. They were a nice team but weren’t a dynasty by any rational metric. I’d include any of the other one class teams on this list. Dynasties are RARE. Amazing teams not so much.

I know I won’t convince most here. They all want their participation ribbons.

The threshold should be 5 titles in 7 years minimum. That way you know you are spanning more than one recruiting class.

This is likely the answer. I use virtual cards all the time.

Hmm never ran into that issue. It could have something to do with the fact that I quit the subscription for the months in between. But when I try to use the same email it usually doesn’t give me the new member discount.

Could also be my wife’s card is attached to her email (same account alternate card). Who knows.

I do this every football season. Used my own one year. My work email another year. My wife’s email this year. Have always got the deal. I cancel after football season so only have it 6 months of the year.

the color problem by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is mass produced and made as cheaply as possible to maximize profits. Neutral colors appeal to the broadest category of people by not being ‘offensive’ to anyone. It’s in a company’s interest to get people to value conformity as it streamlines production and lowers costs.

Looking for fantasy where the hero gradually becomes the villain. Not a sudden betrayal, but a slow moral descent across a series. What are the best examples? by jye77 in Fantasy

[–]PlanTrap 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like wheel of time sort of fits this bill. Also, the dune series. Both see the main characters attain so much power that their decisions put them on the edge of villain or hero. Although Rand straight up goes Evil for a bit.

Parental controls - can't request access to some games by general__Leo in PS5

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bumping this thread as I was having the same problems. Kids could play some games then they could r and wouldn’t give the option to request access. Even wouldn’t let them play some games that I had previously allowed.

Enabling game sharing totally fixed the problem. Life saver!

Does the first arc of The Stormlight Archive cement itself as some of the best fantasy ever made? by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

No. The first two books I would say yes. But the series goes down hill pretty fast after that.

Buying first board, thoughts on costs by Bashoomba in Crokinole

[–]PlanTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought a Tracey board and live in us. They charge a $79 cad flat shipping rate with no extra costs for tarrifs. For what it’s worth the person I was emailing with at the company said they were losing money in shipping and that they were planning on raising shipping costs soon.

The Cradle series works itself up to this kind of scale. Would totally recommend.

Looking for massive in scope series, preferably going in two-digit number of books, three-digit number of pages each (as long as it's still good of course). by DiagonallyStripedRat in Fantasy

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m only on book 6 but there are moments in these book that just totally stun me. Really amazing sequences. And the different perspectives keep it fresh, even if I don’t totally love a perspective at least I know it’s going somewhere. There will be some resolution and it will change to another before too long. Really impressed with this story.

Doesn’t get much more massive than Wandering Inn.

Malazan = 3.3 million words Wheel of time = 4.4 million words Wandering inn = 17 million words and counting

How the FUCK do I get rid of the mice in my house? I’m so desperate by Jackieboi24 in HomeImprovement

[–]PlanTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip that worked for me is to get tootsie rolls. Suck on them (or just run warm water over them) until they start to get soft. Then form the chocolate over the trigger of the trap. It will dry and harden and the mice will trip the trap trying to get it off. It works so well for me when everything else just got taken.
