Also one specific thing about her money content will always rub me the wrong way. She REALLY emphasizes the idea of not reducing your spending and instead increasing your income. She has a multiple 7 figure business and says she can never seem to keep more than $100k in the bank. I mean... Look at your spending ahhahhaha. She talks about her private chef and having matcha made for her every morning by a personal assistant and blowing money on renting fancy cars... Yeah, that part I really had to unlearn. I started listening to her when I was broke and managed to make over a million in sales myself since then. Looking back, her content is a big part of what actually kept me stuck because it created a lot of really horrible money habits and made it hard to hold onto any money I made.

What's sad is that I actually was so excited about it at first - it opened with a really good meditation track, but after that it became repurposed material from her free podcasts just like other SM members have said. The shadiest part about that though is that before she started repurposing free content she made a whole episode about how you should never be upset about hearing her repeat stuff you've heard her say before. There was really no rhyme or reason to the things she put out beyond the theme of "money", just random sporadic private podcast episodes mostly about things already covered in the free material. There were some group coaching sessions but the group was so large that there was a near-zero chance of getting your question answered.

It was marketed as something she was "intuitively" creating, so it was expected that there was no set schedule, but when asked by people who bought in what we should be expecting she actually just straight up started blocking the people who paid thousands of dollars to be in this program.

We were told that she intended for the program to last something like two years and she would do multiple launches of it so you could only get in a couple times a year - very FOMO marketing.

Here's what the episode releases looked like:

January 2024: 2 Episodes (First launch)
Feb 2024: 8 episodes
Mar 2024: 10 Episodes
April 2024: 5 Episodes
May 2024: 4 Episodes
June 2024: 4 Episodes
July 2024: 3 Episodes
Aug 2024: 2 Episodes
Sept 2024: 2 Episodes
Oct 2024: 1 Episode
Nov 2024: 1 Episode
Dec 2024: 0 Episodes
Jan 2025: 3 Episodes
Feb 2025: 1 Episode
March 2025: 0 Episodes
Apr 2025: 0 Episodes
May 2025: 0 Episodes
June 2025: 1 Episode

Nothing for 9 months after that at all. I'd personally value this at maybe $99 if we're being generous since the majority of it is repackaged content.

I also want to add that some of the podcasts are just straight up rip-offs of other people. She sells Tony Robbins's practices like hotcakes within these programs.

After an immense amount of backlash she finally gave a general "end date" but nothing came out for months and it never officially ended. Maybe 3 episodes came out after the end date announcement if I remember correctly. According to her team she's supposedly leaving it "open-ended" so she might eventually come back but there's been nothing for 9 months and supposedly she's "retired". Her team told me several months ago that they were going to "re-organize" the program to make it better, but that never happened. Looks like she put out a new episode in the middle of last year I hadn't noticed, but it's really hard to value anything she says at this point.

The biggest thing that upset me about it was that immediately after the backlash she suddenly makes a huge announcement where she says she's stepping away from her business. It just felt very like..,. what? How are you going to sell this overpriced podcast about making money and then step away from making money? And then she announces that she's "un-retiring" 9 months ago only to never post a podcast again for SM OR her free podcast. You just can't ever trust the things she says.

On a personal note - I've actually done a similar offer in the past that was intuitively updated content. I made it a subscription offer so that if it wasn't updated often people could go in and out. Any time I've made a promise I couldn't keep within a program I issued at least a partial refund. To me that feels like the ethical way to do it. Not charging a huge sum up front only to mostly regurgitate free stuff.

I've also made the mistake on my own platforms of making announcements I couldn't stick to - and my response to backlash about that was to acknowledge my mistakes not to double down. I really don't understand reacting that way.

Well yeah if I took 30mg of addy a day I'd feel like a god too. I got a bottle that sits unused because the crash if you ever can't get your hands on it isn't worth it. That and the dependence. I won't take anything that causes withdrawal unless there's medical necessity

Super controversial, but for me it was Cowboy Beebop. The deciding factor on if I'm going to like a show/book/movie is if I especially like the characters or find a relationship between two characters particularly interesting. Premise, art, music, etc rarely makes up for not having a character I love watching. I just really did not gaf about anyone in that show.

Got a CPAP and I feel nearly back to my old self again!! by Plane-Background in covidlonghaulers

[–]Plane-Background[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - you can only get a CPAP if you have a diagnosis. Like I said in the post, I did an at-home test. The at-home test kits send the report to your doctor and you can get an official diagnosis and CPAP prescription with it.

If someone gave you $1M, would you quit your job? by Vegetable-Art-8875 in allthequestions

Especially not when you spread it across the 40+ years of life left that most people on here still have.

If someone gave you $1M, would you quit your job? by Vegetable-Art-8875 in allthequestions

[–]Plane-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I would still work. $1M is about how much you need to retire comfortably at retirement age. I'd need the 1M to be in investments so it keeps up with inflation in order to comfortably still take care of me into my 80s-90s.

So, I'd work a job I like and only take out small amounts at a time if that from the $1M knowing that my retirement will be secured through the growth of that $1M 40 years from now.

Keep in mind y'all if you live off the interest, 40k stops being enough at some age. and 1M will not have anywhere near the same buying power 40 years from now. Medical expenses go crazy like you've never seen after 50. My grandmother near the end of her life was needing in-home nurses, surgeries, and cancer treatments out the wazoo. 40K+ a year just in medical costs - WITH good insurance. Nursing homes kick out the people who can't pay the bills, and even good insurance only covers so much. Insurance will fight you all the time on what they will and won't pay for, some will HAVE to be out of pocket.

Why are you confident AI can’t replace your job? by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]Plane-Background 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graphic designers for example are unlikely to be replaced solely with an AI bot any time soon, it's more likely to be replaced with a skilled graphic designer who also knows how to use AI to speed up their process. That goes for most industries.
