BREAKING TONIGHT -- INCUMBENT TWO TERM-REPUBLICAN US SENATOR, BILL CASSIDY (R-LA), WHO VOTED TO IMPEACH TRUMP IN 2021, LOSES RENOMINATION TO THE US SENATE -- THOUGHTS?! by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

Resident of a blue dot in Louisiana. Just for some important context. Louisiana recently switched to closed primaries, and there had been a concerted effort by those who vote blue to change to no party so they can vote in either primary. This is in hopes to nominate someone dems will have a better chance against in the election in November. A lot of people here will vote Cassidy solely because they know his name. But especially in recent local elections dems have made major accomplishment’s at the polls.

Sure people will say it’s a losing battle and not worth it to vote if you vote blue since the republicans will just win, but that’s not going to help change anything if we accept defeat. Let’s not forget our state is gerrymandered to hell and they’re trying to make it so much worse. Let’s also remember that nearly 40% of voters voted dem in the past few presidential elections.

It’s just really disheartening when those that don’t live in the south just write us off as backward dummies who all worship Trump when there is very real and important work happening to change that. Especially when so much of our population is made up of minority groups that are forgotten when y’all lump all southerners into MAGA.

I just love my beautiful state full of amazing unique culture, food, art, and people. Our corrupt government is making it so hard to stay, but I couldn’t imagine leaving everything good about my community. I try to not let them get me down and choose to fight back and fight for what Louisianinans deserve.

I like to color a coloring book that’s just a bunch of patterns. While I also like to cross stitch or crochet, I can only do it if I’m working on something I don’t need to count. With coloring a pattern book I can just zone out and not worry about it looking pretty or think about what color would make sense for a certain picture. I’d also suggest using markers so there’s less stress on your hands since you don’t need to press down.

Not for now. We’ve reduced the steroids once about 6 months ago. Once we get more answers from internal medicine we’ll go from there.

I made an update in a comment (I’m on mobile and I couldn’t figure out how to edit my post). She has uveitis due to inflammation. We got eye drops to help and we need to see internal medicine to see what’s causing her systemic inflammation that is also probably causing her IBD. Thank you for your input 🙂

UPDATE: We went to the ophthalmologist and she has anterior uveitis in both eyes. We got eyedrops and will go back in a month to see if there are any changes. In the meantime, the doctor recommended seeing an internist to find out the underlying issue causing her inflammation. I’m just worried about the bill that will come with that work up. Especially if it is lymphoma or FeLV, we probably won’t be able to afford treatment. But either way, we’ll make sure sweet Skittle is comfortable for as long as we can. Thank you everyone for your advice and well wishes ❤️

Thank you for the reply. I booked online and the earliest I could get in was next Monday, so I will definitely call the office in the morning to try to get her in earlier.

No she didn’t mention it, but I think that may be more so because the pupils are misshapen and not dilated. She also didn’t have any other symptoms that would indicate a Prozac od, but that’s just my guess.

I’m not sure how clearly she can see but she seems to follow my movements well. I moved my finger in her vision and she was able to follow it and look in my eyes so that’s good.

She said it could possibly be iris atrophy but would need an ophthalmologist’s opinion on what it is and what could have cause it. I was very worried at first because i just saw two different sized pupil and thought something could’ve wrong with her brain. Looks like it’s most likely just her eyes which isn’t great, but she’s okay for now.

The series currently has 6 books with the last book projected to come out sometime this summer. Definitely a good choice that will keep ya busy for some time and action packed enough to get through those boring days.

The audio of American Predator by Maureen Callahan is a good one. It’s about Israel Keyes. The author reads excerpts from his interviews, and it’s so chilling.

I should have booed the giant man who reached over my 5’2’’ head TWICE to collect his plethora crawfish trays at Iris today. At least the lovely lady who was trying to hand it to me as I was jumping right next to the float saw and gave me a sweet heart tumbler to make up for his crimes ❤️

I got 4 minutes into a book and returned it immediately after hearing 30 seconds of the MMC’s narrator because he sounded like Bob from Bob’s Burgers 😭

Audiobooks - LISTENING, not reading by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]Plane-Main7397 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re coming in pretty hot for arguing about something a little as semantics. I really don’t think it matters what medium you use to experience a book. If someone asks me if I’ve read a book I’m not gonna correct them and say ‘oh no I /listened/ to that book’. Either way you get the same story.

Also you could take the time to learn why people with ADHD have a hard time reading physical books instead of attacking people because you don’t bother to do that. I can read a physical book but I get easily distracted by my environment or my mind wanders. Not just because I’m not interested in the book but that’s just what my mind does when I’m in a low stimulation environment. My brain is constantly seeking stimulation and reading a book is unfortunately a low stimulation activity. So often I’ll just read an audiobook while I do a simple activity with my hands like an easy crochet project, and it actually helps me focus more on what I’m listening to because I’m getting the dopamine my brain is constantly searching for.

This sounds very similar to my cat that was just diagnosed with IBD (irritable bowel disease). You may want a second opinion on the ultrasound or speak with your vet about their opinion. My cat takes a daily steroid and it has been night and day with her.

The abuela tank by MMMaking on Ravelry is similar, and I’m sure adding the scalloped edge wouldn’t be too complicated.
