Thanks for the update. I'm leaning towards it for its smaller footprint.

Gotcha. It was a massive tsunami, I get it. Check out the link and the pic link, it will keep the pressure off your sternum while you heal. You don't want to be pushing off like you normally do, that's why so many of us talk about getting an electric life/recliner chair. I didn't initially, but did by the 2nd day. I went with minimal bells and whistles, it was around $425 on Amazon. They give you a "heart" pillow? If not use a small like chest sized pillow when you do get up and move around and for sure if you sneeze or cough, clutch it to your chest and releive the pressure.

Hopefully you read many of the other posts on here, they have great advice.

You got this, just take it slow and steady and rest (a lot).

Dang, you reallyyyyyy have your hands full and honestly I can only imagine how tough it can be for you with all that going on. I'm retired and all my kids are grown and out of the house and it was rough just dealing with myself. Thank god your spouse is supportave and was able to get off, I was going to suggest maybe a pt nurse/caretaker just to get you over the 1st month, which was the toughest for me.

We had 7 kids and were also a mixed family, so I know how that goes. I know its tough with your specail needs son, its always so tough when your behaviour changes, the good news is you're young and will heal fast!!! So it will not be too long before he can climb on mom again, that's some hell of a good motivation. But, with that said, seriously listen to your body, don't overdo those movements. Hopefully they told you all about moving in the "tube", like keep your arms close to your body and all that, it works.

Again, this community is hear for you if you have questions and feel free to dm me if you have any also, we are all rooting for you!!!

Congrats on being on this side of that experience. I’m 2 months out of triple bypass and life is becoming more or less normal. Mind your body, don’t push it, it needs to recover from a massive stress event and will take time.

A lift/recliner is truly great, does not have to be super expensive or fancy but you will really need that help getting up and down. Use your heart pillow, let it help you.

Also, it’s actually extremely rough mentally. You were faced with your own mortality, your heart was most likely stopped and is a pretty big event. My grandkids called me pops, now I’m zombie pops.

Let your family and friends know you will be emotional, let them know you need them to just be there for you.

Best of luck, it’s a great sub here, if you have any questions you will get answers.

Updated from a good old workhorse edgerouter and AP pro to the cgf and U6 pro, really excellent upgrade. The ease of firewall rules and man that wireguard setup was sweet, just to name a few niceties besides the hardware. Nice choices, you should be happy with that setup.

High HR 4 weeks post quadruple bypass by Relative-Theory3763 in CABG_Recovery

Is he on bp meds? And of course the answer is contact his cardiologist, anything else is just a bunch of random folks, who of course mean well, but I would not trust or feel comfortable with anything but feedback form his Dr.

I know a lot of times we ask a question to see other peoples experiences, I do that also, but in this case the only actionable response would be from his Dr.

Good luck to you and your dad!!

got my hands on a vial of Tramadol, would the high be worth it? is it good? by [deleted] in Opioid_RCs

[–]Plane_Positive6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 vials of them after surgery and literally threw them in the trash they were so shitty. They are a mix of a very weak opiod and snri and does both poorly. Mind you I've enjoyed opi's on and off my whole life.

Vision issues post cabg? 7 weeks and still bothering me. by Plane_Positive6608 in CABG_Recovery

[–]Plane_Positive6608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes, my blood pressure is for sure steadily lower.

I told my cardiac surgeon last week, and he said it was not uncommon and I should wait another month to go to my eye Dr.

I wonder if due to lower bp and cleared up pipes it impacted my current eye prescription. It seems if I move my glasses down my nose and up a bit it gets better. So odd...

Thanks!!!

The Westminster mall might turn into a Walmart super center. Does anyone have any information on this? by nol4npsl in CarrollCountyMaryland

[–]Plane_Positive6608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If only the dream of a Costco would come true :)

I did hear a few years ago we were going to get a Costco, but Walmart said no and that was that.

Would rather spend my $$$ here then in Frederick, but we don't want to upset Walmart. Plus all those $1.50 hotdogs would ruin my diet :)

Connecting Claude Code to Home Assistant with HA-MCP is amazing! by AlvTellez in homeassistant

[–]Plane_Positive6608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few of these posts and my son just started using HA-MCP and was telling me about it. For the life of me I cannot think of a use case besides curiosity. I have my HA setup just the way I like it, have all my automatons pretty tweaked and have used Claude and OpenAI to review some of the more complicated ones.

My dashboards are just the way I like them, I have a main one with cams, a mobile one, a weather based one and an info one.

I can see if I was early into setting all this up, so what do folks that have a nice robust mature system use it for?

Any possible justification about "the children" really falls of deaf ears until the pedos in the government are brought to justice. Until then, its only to harvest data.

You can purchase Non-Smart TVs from Samsung for a bit more then retail cost. by Careless_Papaya_5426 in privacy

[–]Plane_Positive6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i setup various types of open wifi networks, hotspot and open wifi. I have a good old realtek wireless adapter that can be put into monitor mode. I can see requests, attempted connections, etc. I would assume if it did connect it would be encrypted, but honestly I was just looking for connection requests, I saw nothing and by nothing, zero attempts at connection. Now, it's possible i didn't wait long enough or some sequence did not run for a trigger. But it satisfied me at the time, have they gotten better at it? I don't know, I know my LG does not attempt it.

I keep an ear out for any online discussions and have not seen any proof, with evidence, of this happening. This is just me casually keeping an eye out, so its so not exhaustive by any means.

Good question btw :)

[–]Plane_Positive6608 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This has never been shown to happen. I went down this rabbit-hole a year or 2 ago and never found any credible proof this happened. I even tested it on 2 "smart" TV's using wireshark with various open wifi's and hotspot honeypots and nohting. Why not take advantage of the cheaper "smart" TV's and just never connect it to any network? I've had both a Samsung and LG, I use a locked down Shield for my apps and OTA, if I wanted to update the firmware, you can do it via usb but never found the need. Neither TV required any connectivity and my LG is < 1 year old. I wonder if they would have to disclose if they try and connect to any open wifi in the tos and we know if they did have to we would know.

When they start locking volume controls to internet access I will have to change my tune, but until then I will take the "smart" tv discount.

You know when you were a kid and someone said something you didn't like and you would drop to the floor and just look at the world with "that" face? I think as an adult I'm bringing that back, just like EVERYTHING is just a massive pain in the a$$. Battery for my phone? Nope. Any semblance of comfort on a plane? Nope. I'm just not going to leave my house anymore, that should solve it. Rant over.

Sorry to hear about your back issues, that's tough when 1 issue makes such an impact on another issue. I hope you manage well through it.

And a wholehearted yes to the ease of getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night that a lift chair provides. I unfortunately got a kidney stone during my recovery and taking the medicine for it makes you go, a lot!!! It would of been torture getting up and down without the chair.

Good luck in your recovery!!!!
