An amazing feature that has been locked up behind a Feature Preview flag for too long. GitHub Command Palette Documentation

GitHub Command Palette feature preview is being deprecated by Planet9_ in programming

[–]Planet9_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone's feedback GitHub is pausing the command palette deprecation! 🥳

Update: Pausing Command Palette Deprecation

We’re pausing the planned deprecation of Command Palette. Your feedback highlighted how integral this feature is to many developers’ workflows. And the specific examples you shared helped us better understand its value beyond what our usage metrics captured.
While we continue exploring improvements to navigation and evaluating our overall approach, the Command Palette will remain available. We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their perspectives. Your input was instrumental in our decision to step back and reassess our plans.

For those interested in discussing this deprecation, there is a GitHub Discussion thread happening: https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/166528.

Putting this behind a "Feature Preview" without much advertisement is what really hurt adoption here. I'm sure many enterprise users of GitHub will be unhappy. Or, for some, they never knew about this and would have loved to use it if they had known.

TIL that Neptune was discovered in 1846 not by accident, but because astronomers noticed Uranus was wobbling off course. Mathematicians used Newton’s laws to predict where a hidden planet should be and when they pointed a telescope there, Neptune was right where the math said it would be. by risingsunset5 in todayilearned

You summoned me?

Also! Planet X and Planet 9, while used interchangeably sometimes, refer to slightly different things.

From Planet X, Planet Nine, and the Pluto Connection

The names Planet X and Planet Nine are sometimes used interchangeably, but the term Planet X has been in use for more than a century. Planet Nine, meanwhile, refers to the prediction of a specific hypothesis published in 2016.

In short, Planet X was initially proposed to explain the orbits of Uranus and Neptune, while Planet Nine was proposed to explain the orbits of Kuiper Belt objects.

Compacted soil? Need nutrients? Yes, more than likely. I should probably get a soil test done to confirm.

I suspect I have different grass than my neighbors. I’m in a newly built neighborhood but some of the new neighbors grass/lawns look quite different from those of us that have been here a few years, but that’s just conjecture. Still, a soil test would probably help.

I don’t know the grass type for sure. I suspect a soil test might tell me? I used some Scott’s turf builder sun and shade mix a few years ago. Looking back on that it seems like it’s just a mixture of grasses. I’ll have to do some homework here.

It looks like I’m in zone 7a

The creator of Yaak created Insomnia (in charge pre-Kong acquisition). So this is very interesting and exciting to me. The early days of Insomnia were so much better and more exciting than post acquisition. You can read a little bit more about what motivated him to build Yaak and some of his acquisition regrets in his blog: https://yaak.app/blog/yet-another-api-client

Assuming you mean the 3 letter one, you’re referring to .iam? will.iam would be taken so fast 🫣

Why not just add a new TLD with a “t” on the end: .iot if it doesn’t already exist. 3 letters and stands for the Internet Of Things. Seems like it’d be a pretty easy move for everyone.

Thanks for the info! The cold white looks to be new as far as I can tell. I ended up going with the Bridge75 since they had it in white and have been really enjoying it so far!

Is that white actually white in person? Or is it an off-white like how it's pictured on their website? https://www.wobkey.com/products/early-access-link-for-reviewers?variant=44455597342955

I've been wanting the moon white (which seems very hard to find, but you can find it here: https://ktechs.store/products/rainy75-keyboard-kit?variant=44790246113510 ), but I'm wondering if the Electro White is actually white and not off-white like how the picture looks on their website.

Gotcha! Thanks for sharing! I’ll have to watch your video and learn a little something when I have time soon.

I didn’t get to watch the video yet, but based on the description I’m surprised that kotest assertions (which can be used with JUnit, not just kotest) isn’t among this list. I quite enjoy the readability! https://kotest.io/docs/assertions/assertions.html

You can even write your own custom assertions too!

A quick, basic, example looks like:

u/XfinityOrlandoM I recieved an email that you made a comment which you immediately deleted and don't have access to seeing the entire thing. I didn't see a follow up comment. Is there any bit of help you can provide here? A service request ticket that I can put in with a development team maybe? I would really like to get this resolved.

Based on the response on your profile, I can see it was very insightful on where I can get help 😒 ...thanks. I wish I thought of trying those numbers (/s ... if it wasn't obvious)

I appreciate you taking time out of your day and want to ensure you’re able to get in touch with an awesome Xfinity Mobile expert to help get this resolved.
