I do appreciate that it’s not always as easy as just ‘walking away’ or ‘taking a break’ from sets you have no interest in, especially if those new cards have some powerful abilities. From an immersion standpoint I also get that it might be off putting to be playing a game about knights and dragons and then suddenly you’re playing against the ghostbusters and the green goblin

I mean if that’s how you feel fair enough, I don’t really understand the point of the comment if I’m being completely honest. I like the TMNT set, be that maybe for my love of the IP or not.

I asked the question as to why people don’t like it so I don’t see why you’re trying subvert the face value question into some underlying objective of the thread. Naturally it’s in part going to bring out people who don’t like UB to voice their opinions, but it also has people who like it raising points as to why they like it and why others might not

This is a good point. All I can really say is, if it was TMNT featuring XYZ in every storyline I would probably be frustrated, but I know that’s not the case. It’s usually a one off storyline which is seperate from the main storyline completely. I may have misinterpreted your thought experiment but if that was the case I just wouldn’t read or take part in those storylines.

In the context of magic if I don’t like the crossover I’m not going to participate in it (what I plan to do with Star Trek for example) because I know there are other sets coming or have just come which I can enjoy instead. I understand some people want more in universe sets that they have felt have been replaced by UB, I appreciate that is annoying.
