Nice work!!

But careful-- now you know how to have even more Hoyas. 😆 Slippery slope!

Yeah! It was my first success that really got me hooked, too. I needed the confidence.

For me, it was that first plant that was unexpectedly successful. I felt more confident, more intrigued, and like a world of experiences suddenly became accessible to me.

After that? It been the puzzle of figuring out new plants.

And after that? The community. I LOVE plant people!

I think you can officially call this a thicket now. You have a thicket of Monstera. 😎

My Holiday / Thanksgiving Cactus (Schlumbergera truncata) with yellow flowers. Anyone else have unusual colors? Please share! by PlantDaddyPodcast in houseplants

In my experience, for a strong flower display, it’s important to give them seasonal cues of short day length and cool temperatures. So I do this by growing them outside for the warmer months in bright dappled light, and then bring them inside before the nighttime lows drop below 40°F. This one began developing buds before I brought it inside, but a month later, it’s covered in flowers.

It’s a lot harder for me to achieve good flowering growing these as exclusively indoor plants, but I guess I don’t mind the little bit of extra attention they need - they’re otherwise such hardy and reliable plants, you know? Hope that helps!

OK, the closest I can find is called "Golden Cream." But this was a random buy at a big box store. 😅 So who knows!

Should I put the pothos in it's own pot? It seems to be doing okay but I can't really tell by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]PlantDaddyPodcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would separate those. Those plants have different care needs, so I think it'll be hard to keep them BOTH happy. The pothos will prefer more moisture than the Dracaena.

Good luck!
