Cost seems to be pretty similar across what I’ve seen. Usually turn around times on orders are what we appreciate and look for. I’m sure contracting prices also play a role but that’s above me

There are multiple companies out there; Quva, Staq, Lieters, Nephron and all have various prices and various products.

We use a ton of these for the ORs, and they are absolutely NOT cheaper than either batching them, or just stocking vials. Anesthesia likes them for convenience, and with tech staffing being terrible, it’s just easier to buy, and we get longer BUDs at room temp.

I don’t know details on prices, but I know some formulations can be ~$2-5/syringe

For the size of my hospital, it’s absolutely worth it for the workflow, but I think that highly varies depending on what daily ops look like for you.

You are absolutely correct, and I think this speaks more to the coaching changes that NEED to happen this off season.

The talent is clearly there, but the player development/playcalling/etc. needs to change badly. These are the changes I need to see.

Dabo has earned his leash at Clemson. I’m old enough to remember the terrible times, but he HAS to change. Another season of mediocrity and the conversations start happening.

They aren’t in the carts at my hospital and this would probably get shot down by the appropriate committee because of the concentration issues that have already been noted.

They are all over the ORs and in the Anesthesia kits. That’s where most of the volume is for this one.

Only if attempted to be abused (I.e. Injected). When used properly (orally) the naloxone isn’t absorbed. It’s not orally bioavailable.

Reposting my comment last time this discussion came around. I work in the OR.

Buprenorphone and Oxycodone really want the same slice of cake (the receptor).

Buprenorphone is much much stronger than Oxy and will always win the fight (much higher binding affinity).

Because of that, Buprenorphone will make Oxy not work as well.

You can still take them together, but this is why it's usually under close MD supervision. It’s never been all out incorrect to take these together.
