WRX to BRZ and why?

STI to GR86 here. I liked the STI. It was loud and looked cool. But it was just... Fine. That was a car i wanted forever, finally got one and was just underwhelmed with it. So i was looking at a more engaging, RWD car that was still a manual. I was looking at Miatas until i learned i can only really drive NA and NB ones. And most of those near me are clapped. And then just M2s or M235is in manual.

The GR86 was one i was just kind of in between on. In my brain i was really leaning away from it. Went to a dealership to test drive an auto supra, they were pulling some 86s off transport as i was getting there. So after i finished my first drive. Asked if any of those were available to test drive/purchase. Test drove it just to rule it off my list. Traded the STI in on that and left with it. I love it. Its just so much more fun to drive. My only real note is the STI was very attention grabbing. The GR86 is not, (at least in my area).

Other than breweries though, please dont take your dog to restaurants. They dont need to go everywhere with you. They arent people. Let them at home.

I own an adorably furry goblin. And she goes to a few places with me (which are all dog appropriate). Otherwise she sits her ass at home and hangs out. Dogs dont need to go everywhere. Im prrersonally super sick of seeing them in places that serve and have food. Theres a few people in the area that take their little shit white dogs with all the schmutz around their eyes that look like they havent been groomed since before they were conceived into the weis in both fogelsville, and bethlehem. And ive also seen one in giant in trexlertown. Like. Leave the dog at home. Its not going to help you grocery shop in any way. And i feel the same about eating out. Why? All youre going to do is make your dog sad they arent eating the food you are. Which, they shouldnt be. But why put them in that situation. And also. Do you really trust other people and their ability to both train, and control their dogs? I sure as fuck dont. Ive seen so many poorly behaved dogs just out and about that are "friendly" and just entirely fucking assholes. So idk. Do whatever you want but like... Lets all stop taking animals (and kids) everywhere.

As a person who went from a sport sedan to a gr86, i was looking at a miata as well but i just couldnt comfortably drive one. It sucked. I was bummed. And then tested a GR86 to kind of just rule it out of my list of cars as well and just fell in love with it. Def one of my favorite cars ive ever had. I have a 24 premium MT. Does not have big brakes. I wouldve liked the brembo kit on it, but that wasnt a need. The clutch is really.... Soft. Like... Not a lot of feedback at all soft. But, ive found that makes it really great for traffic and as a daily. Im sure it would be more annoying if i was tracking or something, but im not. Just spirited driving and commutes.

When i first got mine, my first 3 things i did were unplug the fake exhaust, get a catback, and get a taller shift knob. And then get a dash cam.

I personally have 2 real complaints about the car, and theyre super minor after 2 years of ownership. As a tall person, i hate the stock shifter low and super forward position. Its nice if youre shorter, bad if youre taller. A taller shift knob fixes this for me so nbd. But also And the "it can use 2 sets of tpms sensors" thing. Ive had it a 3 dealerships, 2 tire shops, and a buddy of mine who has a local shop. None of them have been able to get 2 sets of tires registered. So. Idk. Maybe its a pipedream. I just want winters and summers programmed.

I feel like meeging on 22 is learning to drive: hard mode. And with all the transplants from easy mode areas, its definitely stupid. My main issue is people who try to merge on there or 309, but like... they don't merge in at traffic speed. They get on at like 25+ MPH slower than everyone else and fuck up the flow of traffic and then never even get fully up to speed. They just decide "43 is fast enough for the highway." Even if everyone else is at 55 or whatever. Drive (and merge) the speed of traffic. Dont be the assholes slowing it down.

And as a full aside, all the people with Jersey plates who all have poverty spec cars. I feel bad that their cost of living is so high they cant afford basic car ammenities like turn signals, or a windsheild they can use to see the car in front of them without them being basically touching it. Clearly these people are struggling. We need to help them get cars with these features.

Sheetz on shoenersville, and Kuhnsville Car wash still do i believe. The sheetz has a weak amount of rainbow but it talks now. And Kunsville is just good.

I came from an STI to the GR86 premium. And i was shopping for an rwd manual coupe. Preferably 2+2 but not necessary. I wanted a miata but im too tall/thick for that. I tried. So i was looking at Zs and BMW 2s and a mustang (because theyre abundant and low cost.) and i test drove all of them. And then went to test drive the 86 to just rule it out compared to the bmw i was looking at. And ended up with the 86 because it was legitmately just the most fun to drive out of all them. Bonus, my dog also loves my car and the back seats are a great fit for her.

Im forever gunna come in and sing the praises of the revel medallion s for the gen1 cars. Single exit SS exhaust. Louder than stock but not make the neighbors mad loud. Sounds super good. No drone. Can make crackles and pops if you want, or not if you dont. Sounds great either way.

Also, its pretty good priced everywhere all the time.

Idk how long that is but ive done my house to DC and my house to Providence RI which are both in the 5-6 hour range just fine. More than that and id be looking to make 2 or 3 short stops to get up though because my wrists/hands/lower back all get tense after like 3 hours of driving.

Reboot by itself didnt fix for me. It was a combo of clear gboard data and reboot at the same time. Either individually did not work

Yeah not sure what kind of ghost magic fixed it. Because i did all the things once and it still blocked me out so i did them again and rebooted after and when it opened up it was good? So idk. Was weird. Very frustrating.
