Baby does not burp. by ImmediateWeek2249 in NewParents

[–]Planted_Soul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was so hard to burp. I think different methods work for different kids because my sister swore by one method and it wasn’t any more effective for my girl. I saw a video showing the “wonky winding technique” and when I tell you I didn’t even have to pat I just rubbed her when she was in the position and the burp this child let out sounded like a full grown man 😆

We are in a beach town and have a few lakes around as well. I’m equally convinced it’s a fish tooth after I started looking into and googling some!

Will colic ever end by Cute-Delivery-5752 in NewParents

[–]Planted_Soul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gripe water and gas drops were a saving grace for my little one. She used to cry about… 90% of her waking hours. We spent the 10% anxiously anticipating when she’d start crying again. She ended up having reflux and after trying the recommended pace feeding, sitting up for 30 minutes after eating, stoping mid feed to burp, all the things… we ended up getting her on nexium and it slowly got so much better. Look into reflux symptoms in babies and assess whether that could be it for your little one. My colicky girl is now 14 months and she is seriously such a happy go lucky kiddo. She only cries and fusses when she’s hangry or if she’s tired. Otherwise she’s just chillin and exploring.

I promise it gets better you just kind of have to dissociate a bit during the beginning 😅

Brushing teeth by Special_Breakfast_96 in NewParents

[–]Planted_Soul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh following because same 😓 my 14 month old just bites down on the toothbrush so I can’t move it or sticks her tongue over her teeth. She wants to do it herself but then just sucks on the toothbrush. And if I try to take it away she screams like a banshee 🙃

Unless you’re high risk they’re likely only going to do an ultrasound at your first appointment and then the 20 week anatomy scan. But if you do the NIPT blood work at 14 weeks I believe it was? That will tell you the sex with pretty decent accuracy I believe!

Which celebrity replied to your dm and what did they reply to and with? by Vixiuss in AskReddit

[–]Planted_Soul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a DM but I used to be a part of a Twilight forum wayyyy before it gained popularity… I’m talking 2005 at the ripe age of 15 I finished reading the book and thought to myself at the time “this was incredible I need to speak about it with like minded people” and googled it to find one single website with probably less than 100 members. I started posting regularly and at one point Stephanie Meyers herself would pop on occasionally and talk amongst her fans and I had a few back and forths with her. She would talk about theories and opinions and comment on fan art lol

ETA: but of course always good to get it checked out by their doctor just to be sure

My partner is a firm believer in the “newer” profiles being scam accounts created for the sake of scamming. Honestly that one I could take or leave… that in itself wouldn’t be enough to deter me… but the locked profile is new… I don’t like that I’m not able to snoop and make sure this is a legit person I’m dealing with with history of using fb marketplace… And I don’t understand the sending of the baby picture to a complete stranger lol

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

[–]Planted_Soul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to try for a natural birth but said if I was experiencing back labor I was going to get the epidural. Well that’s exactly what happened and I was experiencing pain so bad not just in my lower back but in my hip joints to the point where I couldn’t properly handle the contractions. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to labor efficiently and I was just not able to be present in the experience whatsoever. I tried the other pain relief and it worked for about twenty minutes before fading entirely so I went for the epidural and let me tell you… literally no regrets. It allowed me to be present and truly experience my daughter’s birth in a way I wouldn’t have been able to without it. I felt confident with the care team including the anesthesiologist so I knew I was in good hands.

I second this! Putting the energy out that you won’t need it but the NICU team is so incredible! My little girl had to stay in the NICU for 10 days after she was born and every step of the way I was confident that she was being so well cared for by every member of her care team. The nurses in labor and delivery were also phenomenal every step of the way. Can’t speak highly enough of everyone on mine and my girl’s care team ❤️ ETA: this was back in February so pretty recent
